No they don't 😂 you want competition for Lance you get a legit QB, not a guy who's being consistently one of the worse starting QBs since he came into the league.

The cap goes up the contracts go up. Even for guys like Sam.

Kyle Shanahan seems to think highly of Darnold.

He's coping hard. We just handed him 4.5 mil and told him he's not dressing? Come on guys

They brought in one of the most consistently bad starting QBs in the league…stop with the bias crap.

the fact that you're actually talking like Darnold is better or should start/compete is just proof of how subjective you are about this…even though you said you're not.

Just like drafting the last pick in the draft didn't turn out to be competition for Lance. He took his job. Lol

That's what it looks like. If Trey were seen as the starter, then we would be good. We have a great backup in Purdy rehabbing and will be ready to be the backup early on in the season. Why the hell would we pay Darnold?

At this stage, Darnold is a better QB than Lance. Lance has potential to develop and maybe be better, but right now Darnold is better.

OR they're cushioning themselves because they don't have a real feel of Brock's timeline. You mean $3.5M.

Stidham Just got $5M per, so is he real competition for Wilson lol? Or is just how much backups make in the NFL this year.

only person making this a thing is you dude.

WTF are you talking about? At this stage with KNOW Sam blows. Almost 1 to 1 TD/INT ratio. Blow 60% comp. Career 78 QB rating. As a starter he's been one of the worst QBs in the league. That's ALL we know right now.

ya'll are f**king ridiculous. We know Lance stinks because we have 100 passing attempts BUT Sam is better because we have 55 starts 1,800 passing attempts of him stinking…give me a break.
well at least I won't be bored during preseason

4.5 million is a lot of money. Personally, I think they're accounting for Purdy's timeline being wrong and him missing 4-6 games. Thats just me though

Easy to take a job when you break your ankle…Brock didn't take his job. He replaced an injured player that hasn't played much football.

Now his injured all the same.

I wish people would stop being stupid for two mins. Only the anti-lance crowd would turn Sam Darnold into something. Talk about pathetic.
so I guess Sam is completion for Brock all the same. Brock better hurry back and get healthy because Sam is so good 😂

I'm talking about who the better player is right now. Lance hasn't done anything. He isn't good yet.

How is that a lot of money for a backup in 2023? I'm seeing $3.5M not $4.5. It's a one yr deal so you look at that gtd cash.

Brock played better than Trey even if you just take Brocks 1st 4 games and use the 1st 4 for Lance. Outplayed him by a mile.
