It would be chaos. This was an officiating crew that usually calls a lot of PI and holding. They let them play the entire game instead of blowing the whistle all the time. They made a call that was close but it was the right call at a critical point in the game. If they don't make it then the Chiefs fans are complaining.

Remember that the call gave the Chiefs a first down . They could have gone for the TD instead of the FG and forced the Eagles to go the length of the field with no timeouts.

Did you not watch the Super Bowl against the Ravens?

The refs made a conscious decision that they weren't going to throw any flags in the final 2 minutes. That's why there was no call for holding or PI on Crabtree despite being late hit, held, interfered with on 3 consecutive plays by the Ravens DBs.

Then, once the 49ers turned the ball over and the Ravens had it inside their own 5 yard line, the Ravens elected to take a safety on 4th down. What did they do? John Harbaugh instructed the entire offensive line to hold on purpose in an effort to waste more time. A genius strategy by John Harbaugh because they knew more time off the clock was more important than the 2 points they were conceding anyway. What did the refs do? Inexplicably, despite the Ravens holding on purpose, the refs still didn't throw a flag. ESPN even wrote an article about this a few years after the SB.

We are always on the bad end of a huge officiating gaffe, miscall, mistake, whatever. Need to blow opponents out, that's the only way to ensure you won't get f**ked by refs in today's NFL.

It's no secret that some officiating teams call more penalties or call more specific types of penalties. Most teams review the officials before the games so they know what to expect. Every team in the NFL has complained about too many penalties or not enough penalties. Officiating isn't an exact science. I think replay has had an effect on officiating in that they sometimes throw the flag and then let the review booth make the decision for them . This can have an effect on the pace of the game. They also need to figure out what to do about teams rushing to the line before a play can be reviewed. It definitely cost the Niners against Philly. Maybe the league can adopt a policy where the team can't snap the ball for say 15 seconds to give the opposing team a chance to review the play.

So basically you can't hurry up no huddle 100% of the time, cuz of the 0.01% of the time when there is a legit wrong ruling and the guy needs more time and replays to throw the challenge flag. Terrible. Get a team and have that team upstairs relay to coach he needs to challenge. As soon as it's a circus catch one handed with Hufanga waving incomplete at the moment of catch and Smith scrambling to get the next play, that's enough info right there, throw the flag. Coach may not see all this so he's depending on guys upstairs under our employ to see it, spot it and relay it. Takes like 5-10 seconds.

Sounds good unless it was actually a catch. They hadn't seen the view that showed the ball on the ground when the ball was snapped. Just because the player is waiving it off doesn't mean he's right. Players do that all the time after catches the same way receivers waive their hands wanting a PI flag after every incompletion.

Maybe they could give each team 2 challenges per game and not attach the penalty of loss of a time out if they're wrong.

Terrible rule change idea, just terrible. You modify the rules of 100% of snaps to accommodate a play that may happen to a team 1 or 2 times a season. That is awful.
The NFL, all sports for that matter are entertainment that can have any outcome the billion dollar industries choose to have.
Feb 12 is Lincoln's bday. Like magic, 2 black QBs are in the SB. When Doug Williams won the SB, it just so magically happened to be the anniversary of the 13th amnent.
These aren't coincidences. This is corporate manipulation.
Week before SB. Lebron scored 38 points to take Kareem's record of 38,387. It was the 38th day of year and lebron was 38 yrs old.
What was the winning score of SB? 38.
Ever since the Rams moved. St Louis/Missouri made a lawsuit vs Rams or NFL, which ever?
What two teams have been in 5 SBs since Rams moved? 3_KC, 2_Rams. Convenient way to collect funds paying off a lawsuit or the city. And before Rams moved,, Royals went to series. And After move, St Louis Blues out of no where, reach Stanley cup final.

My takeaway is that someone needs to sue the 49ers to get them a SB win.

I wish everyone who claims the NFL is rigged would just stop watching the NFL. Why are you watching it?

For the same reason I've watched all this time. Entertainment. Just like movies, hobbies etc.
It's male bonding excuse/ fun.
The history. The aesthetics. Uniforms design. Baseball cards.
I've just grown to be a critical thinking adult and don't get emotionally involved like a child anymore.
When the entire world can see a replay and know the call was wrong, even though the refs and announcers say it went the other way. I'm no fool. I know that I'm watching a lie.

Levi's stadium was built in 2012 to 2014.
Niners went to 3 conference championships and a SB in 2011 to 2013.

How timely and convenient.

I've simply paid attention these last few years. It's based on money and other esoteric things. Has nothing to do with competition.

This isn't about you and the time you've spent watching the team. The Niners are historically successful. That's why they are 5-2 in super bowls.
It's about the owners. Not the players. Not the fans. They profit as long as they go. They don't need to win and the players don't care either. They go home to their filled fridges and warm beds/money.
Most players don't even want playoffs. You want less chance of injury while taking home your 6 or 7 digits..
