Situation was a complete dumpster fire.

Who couldn't have seen it coming too with the all star coaching lineup we had.

If Brock is the real deal and can make it through this entire season playing at a high level than fine, find a way to move Trey. If for any reason Trey has to come into play a game or two and plays well, his trade value will increase. There is way more value in keeping Trey this season than there is trading him. We can reconvene trade talks when they actually make more sense.

I pretty much completely agree.

Financially and Football wise, there's no sense in trading Lance.
Unless they get a big offer like a second round, why would you trade him? Even for a third rounder, they should keep him.
There has been only two seasons that the Niners started two or less QBs in a season with Shanahan. 2019 and 2021.
4 seasons they started at least three QBs!
And don't get me started on Mike Silver saying they could cut him. Seriously?

I wouldn't trade Trey for a 2nd this season nor do I believe we would even receive such an offer.

Cutting Lance is just purely idiotic, specifically financially.

not all of those seasons where because of injuries though (I may be remembering some of this wrong cause I blacked it out of my memory. Haha) I think in 2017 it was just horrible play and we put jimmy in - I think beathard went down at the end of the seAhawks game but I think he could of went the next week. I think beathard got hurt but I don't remember him having to miss time, once again, could be wrong. I can't remember if Nick mullens or beathard got hurt that next season. I just remember the other ravage of injuries and how depressing it was cause it wouldn't stop, especially 2020.

it really is insane the amount of injuries we've had. It's like winning the lotto from hell, so unlikely and so unwelcome.

PFF came out with it annual in depth QB breakdown from
last year.

One thing that stuck more than anything was the yards per zero graded passes . Basically short dump offs/ WR screens.

Jimmy G was # 1 and Brock was #2 . This tells me that Shanny is very efficient at setting up his offense for easy short passes . If Lance struggles with short passes , that's hurts a major wrinkle in Shannys game plan .

Yea it's about as silly as someone posting comp % & thinking it matters during training camp..

I don't know about that.. Based on reports, some are arguing Trey is apparently performing just as well as Brock, if not better in some spots at times.

Allen, I like that we brought him in, but he's just trying to make a case to make the team at this point. IMO, based on reports so far, him and Sam are pretty firmly in the back, but both seem to be making a case for that last spot. Allen has one advantage in that he comes from a much more similar system and reportedly caught on much faster than Sam.

Oddly enough, the Matt's recent reports seem to indicate Sam has really lost steam. At this point, I lean towards him making it but.. It does make me think...

Could we really cut Sam like we did Sudfield despite the 3.5m guarantee? Nate was given $2 million guaranteed and still didn't make the team. Preseason and these TC reps seem really important right now for everyone not named Brock (in terms of pecking order).

Purdy earned first dibs based on last year, but Trey by all accounts is hot on his heels and seemingly isn't making it any kind of difficult decision who the next man up will be, at least not so far.

I like our QB room, but long response short, I don't see any evidence yet pointing to Allen being a threat to leapfrog anyone except maybe Sam.

Really eager to see how these guys measure up against the raiders in joint practices soon.

Trey has consistently had the throw of the day in each practice report I've seen

Yup. The only reason he isn't number 1 is that he hasn't shown up like this in games. I love what I am hearing and think we can go all the way with either Brock or Trey. Best case scenario, I hope Trey actually wins out. Brock is clearly the better QB, but If Trey's performance is so off the charts that he wins out, we are better off in that we essentially have two high level starting QBs on the team- and for everyone that is looking to trade someone, nothing is happening until 2025 and we can get a nice haul for either once Trey puts up some great performances in actual games over a season or two.
Keep doing what you are doing Trey!

Because at the end of the day we all should want what is best for this team. In no way shape or form is it best for this team for Trey to regress and get worse.

The Brock thread's barely got 1400 pages. Why are they not in their ramping it up? Weird, weird sh**.

I'm just coming here to read the latest on Trey,....not people telling us day after day that they would've never drafted Trey.

Is there any video of Lance's TD throw to Snead today?

Obviously can't see Lance and only the tail end of the pass, but the catch was insane.
