The team spent tons on draft capital on him and so far has been a disappointment. Any sane fans can figure out the rationale for the hostility. Did you really not figure this out?

Sounds like your hostility should be with the team and front office and not Trey. Kid has 4 starts. If you have hostility towards him that speaks volumes about the type of person you are.
Anyone still on the trade Trey thing needs a slap.

I certainly hope the 49ers abandoned that thought process. We'll see how Trey looks vs Raiders next week and in preseason but even his biggest haters can't pretend he hasn't improved. Everyone covering the team has confirmed that. Even the guys with a bias against him are agreeing with that.

There is 0 smart reason to trade him. If Brock is killing it then you simply don't pick up his 5th year option and see where things go. Option to trade him will always be there or you can let him walk and get a comp pick for him.

Right now nobody is giving us value for Trey. He's worth more to us as insurance than in a trade to another team.

This is the most important position in the NFL. See what happens with both Brock and Trey. I hope Brock shows us he's the guy from last year and stays healthy the whole time but if Trey keeps improving his trade value only goes up. If god forbid Brock gets injured and Trey gets to play you never know what he can look like with the improvements he's made.

It would be incredibly stupid to trade a young and clearly improving QB before you HAVE to. Right now we don't have to. It's not a major cap savings move and there is no locker room issues to get rid of.

If we trade Trey and ride with Brock, Sam and Brandon then Shanahan better deliver a SB win or pray Brock stays healthy and is the real deal.

Why you hanging on the past? Lets try to keep up with the present. By all indications Trey is light years a head of where he was his rookie year. And has been stacking solid practices for a week now. Being arguably the best QB in TC so far.

You have not answered my question.

I didn't know I was obligated to answer any of your questions. 🤣

Make sense that you don't want to answer the question. It was a yes or no question. No matter what your answer is it would be entertaining to us.

Your question is pointless. Which is why I asked why you were hanging onto the past. Please try to catch up to the present. The present is far more important than anything that happened a year ago.

Most fans are not happy that the player the team spent tons of draft capital on is competing for the QB2 role in year 3.

Please don't speak for "most fans." As of now he's still here for at least 2 more years, and you have zero evidence to back this up.

The negative addiction you have towards a thread and a player that hasnt really played yet isin't at all normal or something "most fans" are going through,...especially when Brock is right there.

I'd argue that most fans are much more mature than that and it's a select few of you that can't help but continue on. Lol so no,...let's not take complete weirdness and try to normalize it.

That wasn't the point. I actually don't have hostility towards Trey.

The point was whether people can figure out why there are hostility towards Trey in social media. Social media isn't always logical. But I believe 99% of the sane fans can figure out the reason for that hostility, logical or not.

Were you arguing against yourself??

Please don't speak for most fans. You have zero evidence to back this up.

This is likely highly correlated with his extremely high fumble count going back to college.

I have yet to see any evidence to convince me Sam is a super different guy than he's shown so far in the NFL.

I have plenty of evidence to show you that MOST FANS don't even post on messageboards to begin with....lol.

I can prove it if you need me to? Let's start there.

And "most fans" don't really care who the hell the QB is once kick-off comes around. They just want damn good QB play. 7th round, undrafted, Top overall,...they really dont care.

A collective "subset" of less than a dozen guys telling us the same exact thing day after day is completely the opposite of normal.

I mean I'm fine with you stemming and coping here day after day the way you do until the moment you try to pass it off as normal or take "most fans" with you.

No. The vibe you are still trying to give off in here is completely abnormal (given the context), and the objective with fans like these is for several of them to fill up the thread so we cant simply discuss the latest "real-time" events as they try to "appear" like the majority.

In a different thread that is eerily similar in weirdness,...we have an "injury" thread where we can't discuss the latest injuries. Other injury threads get locked and we're forced to read about a bunch of paranormal conspiracy stuff instead of what the topic of the thread is.

What are you guys even arguing here?

1. You wouldn'tve drafted Lance.
2. You think it's a waste of a draft pick.

Anything else?

Here was what I said:

"Most fans are not happy that the player the team spent tons of draft capital on is competing for the QB2 role in year 3."

I meant if you ask fans as this point if they would prefer the team to have spent those picks (No. 12 overall pick in 2021, a 2022 third-round pick, and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023) on Trey, I believe the answer from most fans would be a no.

Are you really arguing most fans are ok with spending those draft capital on Trey? If yes I disagree. If no I am not sure what you are debating.

This is a flat out lie,....as you can't even begin to speak for the unhappiness of most fans. Most fans are probably overjoyed about the quality of football we've recently played,...and that we're once again a Top 5 favorite to win it all.

I mean what else you need here? You're telling a complete lie about "most fans" that you can't come close to giving details supporting such (because it's a lie).

This is you and your brigade that's unhappy. There's a handful of you and damnit,...you're going to be heard. Even if it's the same thing repeated every day. Let's call it what it is.

People just need to let this play out. We got 2 young qb's with potential Shanny will play who he will play and things will progress from there.

Lance isn't a bust. He got hurt and Purdy played his a off. Purdy probably will get the 1st crack at starting because of that but there's no need to sh on Lance because it can flip just as easily this season.

Couldn't be any happier. At least one of them will pan out. Enjoying hearing about the guys and watching them develop. But others here want to speak for us and how unhappy we are with the team,...lol.

First all this is an opinion. Not sure how you can conclude this is a lie.

I was talking about the specific transaction. The trade to move up to the 3rd overall pick and draft Trey, not about the overall status of the team.

Again, are you arguing that most fans still like the trade up to draft Trey Lance move? If yes, I disagree with you. If no, what are you debating?

When you say "Most fans are _______________," .....It's either fact or fiction. There's no room for opinion.

I mean I get the objective. Come here with weird discussion day after day and use "most fans" falsely to support the weirdness.

Maybe you can try to start with "I think" next time you'd like to totally fabricate an untrue storyline?

It didn't pass the smell test at all and was rather easy to out. Let's continue on.
