3:45. I believe this was the question referenced... but I'm not a voice recognition expert, lol.

Look at Darnold, he was able to command a 2nd, 4th, and 6th round pick from the Panthers. Granted he has more experience.

I think one considerable difference, besides the experience, is Darnold gets the bad team excuse and it can be enticing for a person to believe he could be better in a better situation (we're doing this ourselves). Lance is coming from what would be viewed as a situation with an embarrassment of riches for a QB (even though it actually worked against him IMO).

You just said you think we should trade him regardless of the return, but what do you objectively think it would take to get him?

I'd assume a 4th round and a 6th round pick based on his inexperience.

Send the kid to the Vikings.. or even Washington for.. two 2nd rounders that can become two 1st rounders if they can get to the NFCCG the next years (24 & 25)..

WHY is it so hard.

So why do you think Kyle is so insistent on making sure a fourth QB gets reps? Knowing that we won't keep four QBs on the final roster, and odds of him making the practice squad is very unlikely ?

why is he getting more reps than Purdy got last year as QB3? Why is he so insistent on taking a handful of reps from Lance & darnold?

Wouldn't it makes more sense to have just those three and when Brock isn't playing, to split all the reps across those two guys? Like teams usually do.

are they doing it cause Kyle is incompetent? He doesn't know what he is doing? He has absolutely no reason?

idk why he is doing it but he has a reason. Only time will tell what it is.

Honestly I don't know the answer and I think only those within the Kyle/Lynch inner circle know their true plans. I would think giving Allen so many reps indicates that either Lance or Darnold (probably Lance) is gonna get traded for like a day 3 pick.

If they were planning to keep both Lance and Darnold then QB4 I would guess would've been some UDFA destined for the PS, which it seems Allen wouldn't get to.

It's all a mystery but I agree with Cohn in that limited reps between Darnold/Lance is not the best way to truly figure out who is better since both can't get into any consistent rhythm and both are afraid to make mistakes.

I think they tanked his value by ruining his confidence. He was a project before mechanics and experience wise, but now mentally as well just like Darnold.
I'm not gonna write off Lance yet he's gotta do better definitely. But it's hard when you only have so many reps and you throw on the side in between them. How can you establish any rhythm like that? We'll see how he does when the pads come on and in preseason.

Lance is getting the second most reps behind Purdy. As of right now he's not the starter, so sounds about right. What's all the complaining about??

It's not enough reps that's what we're complaining about. Less than 10 reps is not enough.

But how many series are they running. And whats the plays that are being called. QB's just don't line up to pass the ball. You don't think they're just gonna call pass plays throughout the whole practice right?? Shanahan isn't running the run-n-shoot offense.
My only worry for Trey right now is lack of reps and the simple fact that Shanahan may be so out on him that they think trading him is their best business move. Maybe that's true but to me it doesn't make sense but I'm just a fan on a couch.

Bad practice isn't ideal but 2-5 is one more completion from 3-6 and it sounds like Trey was getting the backup reps with backups. Darnold still had some starters or prior starters out there with him like JJ, Mitchell, etc.

Either way it's early, no pads and we haven't seen a lot of the reps ourselves. That's why I hate all the different recaps of the same practice.

I want to see how he does on the field again. His release looks much cleaned up. He's putting in the work to get better. I can't imagine that his mentals are so fractured that the physical stuff doesn't work as well. His intangibles were one of his biggest selling points. Hopefully he starts stacking good days and just playing ball vs looking to impress and the rest will come into place.

Really hoping the Bengals come calling for Allen so we can have a better spread of reps in camp but odds are the handful of reps will continue.

The comp/att don't tell the whole story anyway. It was reported that Trey has scrambled for yards on atleast 2-3 dropbacks so far. So those percentages would look different if they reported dropbacks instead of pass attempts I'm sure.

Exactly my point, thank you. We also tend to forget that Lance is a running QB too.

The guy kyle and Lynch had so much conviction in they basically put their jobs on the line is splitting reps with one of the worst starting QBs the past yr. It's not like Lance has years worth of s**t film either.

Everyone including this coaching staff/FO said Lance NEEDS reps to get better, yet they continue to do the opposite?

And on top of it, Kyle is running around saying Sam can be Steve young and the only praise he's given Lance is "he's healthy" IMO it's a f**ked up situation, if I was a rookie QB I wouldn't want to come here ever. Love kyle, he's my HC… but I think he kinda sucks with the QB position and how he approaches developing it. I feel bad for Lance and our fan base loves s**tting on him for nothing he's done. He's done everything right, he's listen to his coaches, he's busting his ass trying to get better. He has all the intangibles and skill set to be a top end QB. Yet all he gets is hated on.

it's one thing to be critical of a QB after yrs of playing, just strait up hating on one because you didn't want to draft him and giving him zero chance to improve? Come on it's weak s**t imo.

Also you got would be sacks in those dropbacks. They let those plays run out regardless of the pressure. The stats are kinda pointless. Playing without pads is kinda pointless.
