Brock was the LAST pick in the draft and performed better than most high qb picks.

And? Brock had 1,500 passing attempts coming into the league. Lance had 300. You think he's the same exact player if he had 1,500 passing attempts under his belt…if you say yes, then I will also say b******t

Thats the problem isn't it? How do we get Trey the extra 1200 reps. That's four seasons in Kyle's offense. Four seasons of learning making mistakes reading the field wrong etc etc. It doesn't matter that it's not his fault. How do we get him there? It's a real dilemma. We got all World players on our team now. All Pro All Star all galaxy. We're ready to win the Super Bowl now. We can't take time to tutor the Newbie. It's a real dilemma. Unlike other professional sports there's no development league in the NFL. No way for him to spend time away from the team under a Special Assistant and get reps in live action. It's a real shortcoming of the NFL.

LOL, today this is the Jimmy thread.

No one wants to talk about Trey here.

Everyone run! It's the Woo Police!

Laughing isn't policing. It is weird and amusing how this thread always wanders to other players.

Are you policing my posts here?

I hate that it has become a Trey vs Purdy thing in here but can't say I'm surprised. I honestly like both but for the sake of this board/argument; gun to my head, I still think Trey has the brighter future in the NFL. Whether with us or somewhere else seems to be the question with Brock's emergence. But team Trey until it isn't possible for this team anymore

This is the way of the Zone, lots of joiners wanting to form sides.

Breakout age is important in the draft process….And if you actually watched Brock's collegiate experience you'd get why he wasn't a 1st rd pick all said and done. Sometimes having 4 yrs of experience isn't great in the fact that a guy could very well be close to being maxed out.

Drafting is about evaluating what a player can become long-term not just want a guy can do day 1. Imo it's the same thing with Mac Jones. His skill set lead to him being more ready day 1 to play in the NFL…baseline is good BUT what he could ultimately become was lower than the others.

This is spot on. Purdy is kind of a strange one that I don't think anyone could've seen coming, like you said. His best season was is Sophmore year and he regressed after that. Could be for a multitude of reasons but typically and obviously, you would want the opposite to happen and see progression. Hopefully for us that means that he will progress in the NFL

Yeah we will see with Brock. I'm hopeful…at this point it's just getting healthy

Damn. No plan b or c. We better sign bosa early.

We got half a dozen vet QBs that can be signed that aren't planning on signing for starting cash.

We need to sign 3 or 4 and hope one works out.

They said it so it must be true. They would never lie to little ol us.

That problem was known by this organization before they drafted him. How he gets there is by playing; which was also known and should be common sense but I know it isn't for some. The funniest thing to me in all of this is that some posters seem to be mad or whatever the hell it is with all this at posters who simply want to see him play and see why they spent what they did to get him. Be mad at the organization who drafted him (for those that don't like it) not the fans that want to see why 😂

Sign one draft one to go with Trey and Brock

No. Chris Simms lied to you. Three firsts and Trey Lance on draft day told me the TRUTH!!

Pick 12 for a handful of quarters in 2 years.. where does the steal part come in?

All that can get the narrative flipped here is TL being on the field and producing.

They were calling him a bust before he ever took a snap.

I actually rewatched the little action he had in the Seattle game and they moved the ball effortlessly. Seattle seemed scared to move with the threat of him taking off up the middle so I see what Shanahan was trying to do with all those QB runs. And I thing it'll work if Lance can stay healthy.

If it wasn't for the storm in Chicago it's a blowout the other way.

I hope he gets a fair look in training camp.

He's taking all the preseason reps and starting all the preseason games. Haven't you heard? He's going to get his shot all off-season and then at the start of this season. If he's playing well he's going to keep the job

Yeah I heard. But if Kyle saw enough over the last 8 games to determine that a healthy Purdy is exactly who he wants to lead his offense then Lance will get an evaluation and that's it.

He wanted Kirk Cousins to lead his offense and he passed on Mahomes but when he got to the Super Bowl with his new Kirk Cousins in Jimmy G he saw a superstar that scored 21 points in the last five minutes to defeat his number one defense

That's when he realized that having someone you want is not what you're gonna NEED in order to defeat a Jalen Hurts or a Pat Mahomes.

I have told you all for a while now. Trey will start the season and if he's winning he's keeping the job. If he's losing Brock will be next man up

The only way Brock was gonna be the week one starter was if at the end of this offseason Kyle deemed it so. Injury robbed Brock of that chance so now Trey is next man up by default

Thats the way football works. Trey is getting first at bat and if he scores and we win he plays. You see we saw enough with Jimmy over more than 8 games in the regular season but playoff defenses are a different animal once you meet the top tier teams. Remember Jimmy G? Well Brock I was hoping would be that guy to overcome playoff defenses but injury robbed him so we ended up right where we were with Jimmy. Close but not quite. We still have not finished the job but we have two guys we think we can get ready and finish with so Trey is on deck now while Brock waits for the knife rehabs and then gets back at it

I don't know go ask the eagles/bills. You can still win games and not have to have Lance be Allen right now…BUT the ability to have him get to the level is there. You got no god damn patience…unless it's a consistently broken Jimmy. All the patience in the world for that guy. Please give him more money. Let's keep riding that train off the tracks and be let down again an again.

You act like we can't win with him. We f**king blew out the packers in the playoffs with Jimmy handing the ball off 50 times. They put up 150 yards in 17 plays with Lance vs a playoff team his second game as QB1.

This team can win and go to the playoffs with avg QB play. we've seen it. They need elite QB play to win it all..guess what that s**t doesn't magically appear out of thin air. You gotta deal with the ups and downs to get to that point. Signing FA joe blow or broken Jimmy isn't gonna change the outcome.
