Keep in mind your bosses have to fork over that $.
it cost them 2 1st round picks - not 3. And no one is going to dictate to Kyle who to start on his team.

Drafting Trey cost us 3 1st round picks...
No it didnt. We gave up 2 future firsts for the right to swap 1sts in 2021 and draft Trey.

Lets see if you can follow this tough math.
Gave up 3
Picked up 1
Cost us 2

We USED 3 on Trey. 2021, 2022, 2023 . Unless you think we got someone else for our first round pick in 2021?
The above videos are auto-populated by an affiliate.
Who could have possibly seen this disaster coming besides half the fan base the moment the Niners moved up to #3

We basically gave up 2 future firsts in order to get the 1 to draft Trey. That was my point. We got a first rd pick back in order to draft him.

However you want to look at it, no one is going to dictate to Kyle that he has to start Trey because of the number of picks that were given up to get him. He will start the player most ready to lead them to wins. Probably Purdy

Almost everyone in here was thrilled by moving up to #3 and not sitting where they were to draft Matt Jones. I think the biggest debate was whether to pick Trey or Justin Fields. I know, for me, I was pretty upset they didnt take Fields.
Trey_ning wheels is not going to start ahead of a franchise QB like Brock Purdy. He's done. Taysom Hill is what he will be for us. A slash once in a while QB for gadget plays. Who is mostly 2nd string at best. Yes we gave up too much for him.

Bro, just take the L. 3 1sts and a 3rd is what Trey cost us . He is our 2021 2022 & 2023 1st round pick

He did and just about everyone was excited as hell to get a franchise QB. Hardly anyone wanted Jones so moving up was generally well received.

Weren't the rumors at the time that we moved up FOR Jones?

You dont think its a bit premature to say he is done? Or to say he is simply a gadget QB? Maybe you are right but the guy has hardly played!

Not going to argue that we gave up too much. In hindsite yes we did. But at the time i promise you that almost everyone would have done that deal to move up to 2 and draft Zach Wilson. And the majority in here approved moving up for Lance or Fields.

How is Trey ever going to develop on the 49ers? Purdy would have to have an awful regression or get hurt for Lance to even have a chance. Niners didn't even trust Trey in the passing game, and his athleticism is pretty mediocre. Purdy is actually much quicker and evasive in the pocket which matters a lot more than a 40 time.

We'd be better off signing Jimmy G to backup and trade Trey for a 2nd, at least try to recoup one of the wasted picks.

According to Kyle the plan was to run Trey so teams had to account for it. We don't know what a "pocket passing Trey" would have been because Kyle purposely called a different (QB running) offense for Trey, not because Trey can't pass well.

That's exactly what RG3 claimed Kyle did to him too. Ended similarly.

Way too early to say he's done completely. But I think he's done for us, barring a Purdy injury of course. Doubt we can trade him, but for a 1st or more, I would. Use that money to sign Moseley and draft a RT or C.

Man Purdy is light years ahead of this guy. It would literally take him 3 years to be 1/2 as good as Purdy. He will play out his contract and leave. As a slash player. Purdy is our franchise QB.

People in here were excited when it WASN'T Jones and generally fine with moving the picks for Trey. The zone would have been blown up if they had traded the picks to draft Jones.
I think Trey follows wherever DeMeco ends up.
