I think you prefer him because you can relate to him.

???
Relate in what way? Please explain.

oh man is random low key playing the race card?.

Meh I have both African, Irish and Scottish ancestry and I am married to an Asian.... dumb call.

I would like to see more than 3 full games from him as well but I also wouldn't bench a QB who's performing at a high level and winning, just to see if another guy can play better.

It's not benching him. He's the backup.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
OMG! Some of these posts! LMAO!!

Wait, did I miss Kyle's presser when he announced Purdy as the starter moving forward? Could you please post a link so that my posts aren't as funny to you?

I thought it is very clear to anyone following the team closely. If all 3 QBs are healthy and are eligible to playing the playoff, Trey would be the #3 QB.

Again, based off what? When did Kyle say that?

Really? Because when all 3 QBs were healthy that was not the case, was it?

You have no idea what intangibles and leadership ability Lance brings. To be fair, he hasn't played enough to prove it one way or the other. What we do know is that Purdy has a level of intangibles and leadership that is not common even in a veteran QB, much less a rookie. All the league is reveling in what he has shown. Other than giving Lance an opportunity to show what he can do in TC and preseason next year, he has shown nothing of those key components necessary to perform at a high level.

What we do know is that ShanaLynch invested 3 1st round picks and a 7th-round pick in the quest for a starting QB and a backup...and they were successful. The fact the roles were reversed is only incidental. The 49ers now have a high-quality starting QB and a backup they hope to develop to the point he can win some games if he is called on to do so.

Before this season, the idea was "well, Garoppolo isn't the long term solution so lets bite the bullet for a year and see what this guy can do." As long as Purdy plays well, I don't think that is an option anymore.

He'll have an opportunity to compete for the starting spot, that is all.

that was the whole point of kyle running him, so he didn't have to throw so much, just like how hurts does with philly

Kyle delivered a telling message when he said he did not have to limit his play calls because he knew Purdy could make the correct decision and execute the play.

Dude played in 3 games... non-consecutive starts...the last one in a monsoon... and Phoenix acting like Trey has played the whole time since he was drafted like Zach Wilson and Wilson's below average play.

I am willing to give Trey a full two years as long as we are winning games with him while he makes big plays and mistakes. And with this stacked roster we will win tons of games even with where he was at in the beginning of the season. That was the whole point that would still win games with him and by end of the season he has improved further and ready for a Super Bowl run.

Agree with this. It doesn't matter how talented Lance is at this point. When someone comes in and makes the most of their opportunity right out of the gate, looking like a playmaker and winning games, it's an easy call for the coach. I know it's not his fault that he hasn't had much chance to prove himself, but I'm sure he can understand the situation. All he can do is do what Brock did, prepare with -- forgive me for the Harbaughism -- a passion "unknown to mankind" so that when your opportunity comes, you're as ready for it as you can be.

Brock is making plays I would have fully expected Lance to be making (and many more that Brock cannot make due to physical limitations) if he had been starting the whole year and not gotten injured.

If I had to bet Trey's opportunity will come again Week 1 next year - no different from this year.

We will see who is right and who is wrong. I will fully embrace whoever Kyle decides he wants to gowith since it won't be the very underwhelming Jimmy.

I liked the flashes I saw from Lance buy he looked to be miles behind where Brock is in development.

I think Treys potential is exponentially higher than Purdys. I think Trey has a long way to go and has bust potential but he has that superstar ability only a few have. Purdy is the better more experienced QB and has really played well but I don't see his potential much more than a slightly better Jimmy or Tannehill.

How many years are you willing to wait on potential that may never be realized? I think if Purdy continues playing well, Lance really has this upcoming offseason to wow the organization and establish him as the #1 guy in spite of whatever Purdy might have done.

At some point, endless natural talent and potential is irrelevant is a guy can't put it all together. The good news is that if Lance doesn't develop into who they envisioned when they drafted him, there is now a Plan B that has presented itself.

I'd say two full years but with Brock right there it's win now so we don't have that luxury. I do think Trey has the ability to be productive, if not more productive than Purdys 2 3/4 starts where he's averaging 200 yards. I think with Treys legs and his arm he can surpass what Purdy is doing. It may not be as pretty but I don't think Purdy is really being asked to do much. His last game was pretty basic underneath routes and 2 designed TDs. That's not to take anything away from Purdy but I think with Shanny, Trey can be productive enough to deal with some lumps. Lumps that I think Purdy has been lucky enough to get away with so far.

So Purdy's production on 3rd down, his ability to avoid pressure, move around in the pocket, get to his 3rd and 4th read, throw an accurate ball with pressure in his face and beat zero blitzes is all Shanny making things easy on him?

His 200 ypg? Yes. That can be replicated.
