It's a shame to see Trey left to rot on the vine due to a looser owner and head coach

Yeah that sevant is a real looser

Not sure if your being facetious. He's what 32-37 with 2 blown sb's?????

1 blown sb. He was not the head coach for the Falcon's and was not responsible for the defenses debacle.

Stand corrected on that one. That was a team fail

Cheers NY, it always makes me laugh people trying to jump on Kyle's play calling. Dude is playing 4D chess, he doesn't care if he loses a few pieces he's plotting the checkmate.

For me it's never been Trey vs Jimmy, it's what Kyle can do with Trey at his disposal. Combine that with what Trey will be when he's developed and it's an easy decision for me.

If I were Jimmy I'd do everything I could to play this week, I think it'll be the last we see of him as our starting QB if he doesn't.

Not saying Trey will light up the Cards, but with the development of that game and the starters reps in the bye week and Kyle should be confident enough to start him.

Yeah man, the possibilities with Kyle and Lance are pretty wild. It's for sure not gonna happen overnight and for the love of god 49er fans need to understand and accept this.

Watching Herbert last night and I was like man why can't that be Lance? Both are really football smart, cannon arms, mobile, big, great work ethic etc. The major difference was Herbert just has a lot more football under his belt and got thrown into the mix in what week 2 last yr?

Watching Lance on Sunday you could see him getting antsy in the pocket, he missed some reads and his footwork overall wasn't relaxed and calm (like Herbert). You could tell he wasn't prepared to be back there and just amped up to go make plays...Once he becomes more confident in the pocket and his reads pre/post, the footwork will be so much better.

Gonna take time and that will require him to actually play football...

He was responsible for the unbelievably s**tty playcallong when all they needed was to run the ball and get a field goal.

If only Kyle could throw that ball to Sanders or guard Hill on a broken play with the best QB in football at making stupid plays work.

Trey looks like he has never in his life played from the pocket. You guys are vastly underestimating how far he has to come to even be below average there.
Kyle knows that and he will do what he can to mask that for as long as possible. He knows it will be a disaster if Trey has to start

Only he did play from the pocket at NDSU. Dude played under center more than any QB in this draft. He ran more pro-style plays then anyone in this draft. He actually had to call protections and wasn't getting stupid card calls from the sideline, they were long drawn out play calls THAT he had to then change based on the coverage.

The only thing he's missing is more snaps, that's it. What he did have for snaps in NDSU was legit on passing downs...It wasn't a s**t ton of bubble screens and just calling out where the MIKE is.

Sure and the defense could have played better in the second half. It was a team loss and Shanahan was not in charge.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here.. the dude was seeing his first regular season action in the NFL as a rookie, and on top of that played only one college football game last year. Feel like we need to have more realistic expectations. The dude actually did WAY better than I expected. It wasn't pretty at first, but you can see the potential.

He was never going to come out the gates looking like the next Steve Young. This experience will be good for him and for us I think too. It'll give more credence to the idea that he could pass at any time when he gets into those package specific plays when Jimmy is back.

This is such a huge leap of faith. I've seen nothing that corroborates your position. He looked like a deer in the headlights
SF would likely not have ended up with KS had he won that SB (I believe).

He was making fun of your terrible grammar lol

The deal was already done before that SB was even played. He was coming win or lose.

Wrong. He was hired right before the NFC Championship that season. Niners just waited for Shanahan to finish his duties with Atlanta before making it official
