Watson would be great to have but what we have to give up is way too much. Our FO will never do it. We aren't giving up star players. If they want starters, they are getting Dee Ford and Richburg. Watson needs to come out and say I'm only going to the Niners for us to have a chance with a smaller trade.
It would be more picks than players. Once we get up to 3 first rounders, we need to be sending Jimmy as part of it and getting back Watt to make the salary fit for them. Overall, be prepared for the safe route of Shanny picking his new version of Cousins in Mac Jones instead.

Oh he isn't coming here and we shouldnt be paying what they ask....but I still think the Texans can and should deal him.

When your leaders are saying the team is a cancer, you cant keep them. The well is poisoned, you gotta start over. JJ Watt has to go too...scorched earth, start again.
Watt is gone regardless.
As far as Watson, he just committed 5+ yrs and you committed $175M. That's s**t you talk about before just sending him on his way. Also you set a precedent, now any player that wants to b***h can demand out.
End of the day they need to fix the culture there. The poison isn't Watson.

You don't think that is where the NFL is heading, literally every other league is already there, some for quite a while now.

Texans are handling this in the worst way possible. They're gonna have no fans left.

No kidding. They've had lots of exciting players (Johnson, Watt, Foster, Hopkins, and now Watson). But they are incredibly mismanaged.

And all those exciting players (minus Watt (at least for now)) are publicly encouraging Watson to stand his ground and get tf out of Houston. That organization must be horrible.

They can crawl, beg, plead, bend over. Deshaun does not want any part of playing for McNair or his chaplain Easterby.

You are correct. Many people are troubled by the change but it is inevitable.

The massive difference is the other leagues have fully guaranteed contracts. The NFL does not...that will always be leverage for the owners.
You don't want to play? okay we will take your roster bonuses, workout bonuses etc etc. he loses over $20M not playing this yr. he can go that route but I'll believe it when I see it.

Owners will fight this tooth and nail given the average career of an NFL player.
Avg NBA player career - 4.5 years
Avg NFL player's career - 3.3 years
Also NFL career-ending injuries I'd say happen more often in addition to the accumulated injuries (like concussions) that also can force players to retire much earlier is more likely to happen in the NFL.
What we might see a haves and have-nots on contracts like this. If you have the talent/leverage to demand this, you'll see this type of deal (top players). If you aren't probably not.
This, I agree. Deshaun has the talent/leverage to do this.

I'm excited about it, makes the league more interesting. Plus I'm always on the side of workers instead of a cuck for management.

That still wouldn't be enough.
