Not get him and take weapons away from him, Whether defense or offense.

until he gets hurt and then we suck.
Who was the last bigtime young QB to be traded?

Jay Cutler? He was thought of as being a better QB in Denver than when he got to Chicago. He went for Orton, 2 1sts, and a 3rd. It's hard to remember now, but Cutler was pretty highly thought of and coming off a pro-bowl season back then.

Stafford got two firsts, but they are both future picks which are valued lower than current picks.

So the Cutler deal has to be the starting point, but how much more it would take. Another 2nd and 3rd? Another 1st? They can ask for a lot but at some point it's not worth it, even for Watson.

At the same time, we are a young team really. We might value picks less than other teams do. We have built a core through the draft. If we could add a top 5 QB with 10 years left before we start talking about him being old then maybe we are to the point that we can add anything else we need in FA and still have a long window to add some rings. But also, what would have no first round pick for 3 years do to a team 4 or 5 years down the road?

I personally blame the OL for our offensive struggles. Our QBs are all injured / highly hit throughout the season, without a oline to protect our QB it doesn't matter who we have. They will end up in IR.

Lmao Watson is worth so much more than that.

Anyway, this is not a very good take. You can see the problems with Jimmy that are completely unrelated to offensive line play (not all are, but some definitely are). Some have been there since 2017, and are clear if you know what to look for (like his fundamentals on passes; many times he throws in such a way that he gets little help from his lower body, which is the exact reason so many passes get away from him — because it diminishes control).

Missing reads or open guys is also unrelated to online play. And so is a lack of mobility.

I agree and Shannon Sharpe even said that is something Watson wants. The team he goes to will keep its core players.

As they should if that team is giving them f**king 3-4 1sts. I don't think no team especially ours is giving them that much as well as key YOUNG core defensive stars. Not gonna happen, at the end of the day I think Houston would be satisfied with 3 1sts and later rd picks

You want Houston to be satisfied with that, just like many thought Detroit would be satisfied with two second rounders and two third rounders for Stafford. In reality they will hold out for the best deal between us, Broncos, Panthers, Jets, and whoever else. I think we lose out on that unless we include Bosa.

It's not up to the Texans, it's up to watson

Alright let's see if the Jets give up a young player then again they don't even have anyone on Bosa's level so they probably will throw anyone in. We can see with the panthers with Brian Burns, Broncos with Chubb, WFT with Young. Dot see no team parting with a young stud along with massive picks they have to give up and at the end of the day when Houston realizes Watson is really done with them they'll gladly take the haul of picks.

Yep, none of those teams are offering up those players. It's outrageous. I could maybe envision a team coming at the Texans with that type of offer if Watson was totally happy there and we are trying to blow them away with an offer. But not for a disgruntled player who officially requested a trade

Yeah so it's between us Broncos and Panthers. Broncos have an incredible young core of offensive weapons any QB would want. CMC and Moore seems pretty tempting also

Min asking price for Watson starts around 3 1's & Kinlaw

We have a better coaching staff. Broncos would be a tough sell. Lame duck coaching staff. Carolina will be in the race but I'll take our weapons all day vs their weapons. They have a higher pick than us so we will see

all those scenarios don't matter if watson doesn't like them

Watson isn't going to Carolina or Denver

And you know this how? Just like people were sure that Stafford would only go to certain teams when it turns out that the Patriots were the only team he refused to play for. Ultimately we have no idea what Watson is thinking or where he would and wouldn't play.

It's pretty reasonable to believe that the teams that were in play for Stafford are all going to be in play for Watson who is an even bigger prize. Until we hear some concrete info about Watson preferring certain teams or refusing to play for others, it makes sense to think that he'd be willing to play for pretty much anyone making a decent offer.
