Mac Jones-QB-49ers

Everyone hates Grant. I get it. Don't click if you don't want to. I think the guy is funny. And whoever this dude is with him is 100% right until Kyle proves otherwise. Kyle wants an on-script robot. That's Mac motherf**king Jones. But I think Kyle will see more Matt Ryan than Jimmy or Kirk. I think he's a lot closer to Kirk than Jimmy, tho.

Kyle loving Mac will be the worst kept secret in the NFL in a few weeks.

Main reason people hate Grant is because he's caustic. The second main reason is he comes across as arrogant (although is really tongue-in-cheek). The third reason is comes up with ridiculous things like trading Bosa for Watson.

When he said, "This ain't the Eastern Tampon State for the School of the Blind in Automotive Repair," that's when I knew Mac Jones would be good.

He has a avg arm, He can't make unscripted plays, can't really move outside of the pocket in general, has played on a team that was 3 tiers ahead of any team he faced in college in every phase (talent/depth/coaching etc). 17 game starter. He had 600 more yards then any college QB throwing to open receivers. I wouldn't say fumbles are an issue, but some people reported that at the Senior Bowl (not really worried about it). I wouldn't say he's gonna be able to escape pressure, so best have a good OL ( or dudes that an get open quickly a lot). I think he was more of a shotgun QB and didn't turn his back much with play-actions (more RPO stuff).

He can however play well in a structured offense, is smart, can make all the reads, throws a pretty deep ball. There's a reason he should be available at 12 (or later) and it's the lack of upside. Kid IMO is maxed out and is never gonna play on a team that had the roster/coaching advantage of Bama every single week.

low ceiling high floor.

I would rather roll with Jimmy for another season and invest in edge/OL/CB with the first than draft Jones.

Also just curious, has SF drafted a single kid from Bama since the Foster debacle?

Regarding ceiling drafting for QBs, it should be noted that the reason the 49ers drafted Gio Carmazi was ceiling.

NY is Bill Walsh confirmed.

I know how dare they draft a high ceiling QB in the 3rd rd...they should have known Brady was the man lol. You can point to scenarios with prospects to cherry pick why they were great or why they failed. I mean was Steve young not a high ceiling prospect? Just needed the right situation

My concerns have little to do with mobility.

Clean pocket? Looks like he couldn't step properly for fear of stepping on his LT

That was one of his few misfires on the year. It looks like he tripped over himself lol

If that's a dirty pocket, I don't know what to say.

Looks to me like he tripped up because he knew he doesn't have the arm strength to make that throw without a ball pat and a double hitch, and he got sloppy footwork in the process.

Obviously not a dirty pocket but you can tell the LT being pushed back into his stepping lane played a role in the throw.

But like everything this time of year. Depending on what side of the fence you're on you see what you want to see. And I mean that both ways

It represents one play, one throw. A team evaluating him will look at multiple similar passes and not solely go off this one play/one throw.

What are you trying to say? The entire video is unconvincing because of one joke?

Lol so you going to take one play and come to this conclusion? Brutal. Man I wonder if we could find a bad play from any other QB?

You know where they got that "rumor" from? A NBC sports article that listed about every single available backup QB lol
