maybe this guy can follow him?
Bourne was undrafted but look at him now. The biggest point here is it's a very very low risk high reward thing if things work out with him and there's nothing wrong to get a little excited with a feel good story of a 7th round pick who finds success in the NFL by becoming a significant contributor to 49ers sixth SB if that ever happens with him. If it doesn't happen, no one probably cares about a 7th round pick.

Look I'm just being real... not going to hold my breath here on this cat. I hope he does well but given the depth I just don't see him making much of an impact

Kid had 4 drops last yr in college...for reference Lamb had 3, Aiuyk had 6, Jeudy at 7.

I think you've see like one "highlight clip" of him missing a contested catch I haven't seen one report that questions his hands during TC.

I mean I don't think anyone is shouting that he's gonna be a pro-bowler. I think he makes the squad which is a good start for a 7th rd pick on a Super Bowl team.

Not that hard to make this team as a WR right now. I think he makes it but as the 5th or 6th WR.
Last year we were the second higuest scoring offense in the NFL, we had no issue moving the chains with the run game and chain movers.
However, in red zone efficiency we were bottom 10, like 51% of TD ratio or so.
Imagine if they improve that to at least 60%?
That's were guys like Jauan Jennings who are physical and big come, Kendrick Bourne is also money in the redzone with 10 yards or less to go. It's a bummer Hurd will miss another year because he'd have helped to improve the redzone offense as well.
Use Deeboy, Aiyuk, Taylor, Bourne and Kittle to move the football all over the field and move the chains.
Use Bourne, Jennings, Reed, Kittle when you get to the redzone and need to score that TD
I've been pretty vanilla on Jennings saying he's a 7th rounder who can't really run, but I must admit I may be wrong. He seems to be pretty high on the list with the coaches an a bit faster than advertised.

He's gotta great chance with so many injuries hope he keeps improving

Bingo. Ironically, IIRC. that's also a weakness the defense could improve upon too. Iron sharpens, iron.
Football speed
Jennings was a steal for us in terms of value in the 7th round. I am actually excited about him. If it were not for some personal things, behavior, he would have been drafted in the 3-4 round. A poor mans Jalen Hurd. Very sad about Hurd. Once he heals, i think he will be very dynamic. I dont think he is fragile, just unlucky. Jerry Rice had a non contact ACL tear as well. Sometimes s**t happens. It will be interesting to kick the tired on Kevin White, although i dont see him making the roster.

Sanu had a disappointing 40 time of 4.67 at the Combine, but improved on that at his Pro Day with a time in the 4.4s. He performed well in the field-receiving drills at both events.

Lol don't bring up pro-day 40s. Sanu is slow and anyone can see that when he plays.

I'm also not saying he's a bad player, speed is NOT part of his game. He's a big slot who makes contested catches and can break some tackles....sounds familiar 🤔

Deebo - Austin - Yuck = playing style are pretty much similar.... If Pettis does not get traded, then Austin (just like Goodwill) will end up back in LOS ANGELES... as a Charger..
