Such a dumb move. This is what happens when you think you're too good for the team who made you. From a 7th rounder to a solid WR2 in this offense and you get a big head and ask for 30 mil a season. SMH.

with the former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver agreeing to terms on a one-year deal worth $8 million with the Minnesota Vikings, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday night. The deal has a chance to make Jennings up to $13 million with incentives.
Oof. His bet did not payoff
Got bad advice. Deebo, Aiyuk, and Jennings. All three are worst off leaving the 9ers.

Would have preferred we kept him over Kirk but I get he was much more expensive. Also, he essentially burned the bridge to his return when he rejected multiple offers from the team and decided to play out FA. The 49ers couldn't wait and signed Evans and Kirk.
Honestly if he would have accepted something like a 3y 30M contract that would have probably been the best for both sides.
Dude is an absolute baller. He always played to win and showed up when it counted. Best of luck to him.

Good luck to JJ, he was an awesome Niner!
Now honestly he should fire his agent. I mean sure if he performs well with the Vikings, he will probably have better offers next year but he really should have taken the Niners offer.
All this drama last training camp and at the beginning of the season for 8 millions and maybe if everything goes right 13?

I'm not going to hate on the guy because he gave it all as a Niner but...
Jesus H Christ he asked for so much money and now settles for $13M with $5M of them being incentives??? And we were offering around $16-17M but he felt he was worth $20-22M+? Way to shoot yourself in the foot Jauan...
That should make an interesting season ending game at Levi's stadium against the Vikings...

Good bye Juan!!! Had a great tenure here. Always cool to see an underdog like Juan who may not be the biggest/fastest type of player find success and grind is way up the depth chart.
Probably needs to fire his agent.

I'm surprised at the deal he got. It seems like he was asking way too much and held onto that number for way too long. The thing about free agency, is the longer you wait, the less money available to spend on players. Outside of unique situations - players who wait a long time in FA don't get what they were seeking.
$20M+ demand to getting 8 mil with incentives seems insane. I knew he wouldn't get what he was asking but that's way lower than I anticipated. He's also projected to be WR3 on a team with two qbs who aren't known to be very productive. Kyle won't be feeding WR3 and the other kid they drafted in the first hasn't looked good at all.

All three had two things in common. All of them had only one or two really good sesons and all of them overpriced themselves. Deebo and Aiyuk both got paid but it caused the Niners to trade Deebo and we know what happended to Aiyuk. The Niners learned their lesson and wouldn't give in to Jennings.
