Lol. A No.1 WR is a guy who demands double coverage or at least shading on every play, which results in the other wrs tearing up the defense if they do, and him tearing it up if they don't. I don't think it's much more complicated than that.
Gets open, catches passes, scores touchdowns. Size is irrelevant, speed only slightly more so.
someone opposite of Crabtree
Good luck trying to find one in the draft or acquiring one in FA.

Meanwhile, I'm goin with what Kyle wants to do.

Jerry Rice. Everyone else is just living up to what he has done.

I like Tyreek Hill out of the top 5 last season (J Jones, D Hopkins, Mike Evans, T Hill, Juju), once he leaves KC, KC offense won't be the same, J Jones and D Hopkins are true #1 WR also, Hopkins remind me of a baby version of Rice.

Someone who consistently gets open, creates seperation, and teams have to scheme to stop
Demands double coverage making defenses more predictable
Clutch and dependable
1st down machine
Touchdown magnet
I'm ok with having three high ceiling #2 guys distributing the ball evenly to whoever is open and I think that is what makes our offense good. We don't design a play for certain players. We attack their defensive scheme tendencies and design plays to exploit mismatches we create to the point that if you go through your reads, have time, and the receivers do their jobs, 99% of time if feels like someone is wide open. We even saw a couple wide open misses downfield that would have been scores. Our hero is returning though. Garoppolo will make Pettis a yac star. We still have Goodwin whom was our number one out of necessity and he went through some s**t. We need a developmental guy with a high ceiling and I think we can easily find that at 36 or even in the 3d round. There's a lot of good athletes of all shapes and sizes this year. Kittle is basically a slot receiver we use to block by the way. Our offense might be better suited getting a guy like hockerson. The play action game would be strong, and while everyone else is getting smaller, we'd be getting bigger. We have a fleet of homerun speed backs in a zone scheme. The screen game would benefit as well. There are no number one wide receivers to trade for. Well have to draft it.
Pretty good list. Only person I would argue is Ju Ju. I think he has to prove that he can be that this year without AB.

Absolutely this.

I think a shutdown CB is one that can take on a #1WR and not get destroyed!

Football is a game of matchups.

Which is why we should trade back and Draft Greedy Williams
Number one receiver must:
  • Have sticky hands
  • Win contested throws when the game is on the line
  • is a homerun threat whenever he's on the field
  • is an excellent blocker
#1 WR = can beat prime Darelle Revis man to man
Criteria? Snapping necks and cashing checks

Could be. He's become a sleeper because of what he went through last year. Here's hoping he has an outrageous year!
