The problem with this is that Deebo is a precedent setter. Deebo isn't just a WR who's great at running back, too. He's a guy that confuses defenses. Him being able to be a threat outside, in the slot, as a runner on outside zone, as a runner on inside zone, as a route runner from the backfield, and as a decoy itself (and a double decoy when he is designed to LOOK like a decoy but actually is the main event, like the 3rd and 7 run against Green Bay), you force the defense to react to you and not dictate.

That's more valuable than simply being called "wide receiver."

If he takes that away by demanding to be a tradition WR, then his value sinks, IMO.

Without that guessing game, he and the team he's playing for suffers statistically.

I'm not convinced he'd be a marquee traditional WR.

My experience is players want the ball in their hand as much as possible and if Deebo did say something about how he's used it's just to try and get more money cause it could shorten his career.

the offer was asking for money back

LOL Lynch and Paraag will be working at the IRS after this stint.

Are they trading Deebo or are they going to hold him hostage?

Neither
He probably feels like he would still be elite playing as a traditional WR and that our initial offers were essentially punishing him for being so versatile and willing to do whatever the coaches asked him to.

You know what's the cause of all the problems in this deebo drama?

JIMMY G.

He's the main and #1 reason why the 9ers didn't make the SB and could have won it this past season. The reason why it was a harder road just to get to the NFCC championship. Why the 9er loss the SB few years ago. And why they don't have the money yet to pay deebo. Even Jimmy G himself knows it LOL!!!! Same reason why Tyreek and Davante left KC AND GB, their QB is hogging all the money, greed, that is the status of the NFL today.
Dear lord.
Please stop.

You know who my all time favorite posters on WZ are? The posters like this one who are Alex Smith stans but hate Jimmy Garappolo. Makes absolutely zero sense to me how someone could be an over the top homer for one and hate the other, when they are both roughly in the same class/category/tier of QB.

In any case, whether he stays or goes I don't care either way anymore.

Thi post just seems to be bitterness about Social Media activity.

IDGAF about that but I do care about the team losing it's MVP.

Or…. Extend Deebo and cut Jimmy once he's healthy.

that makes to much sense to the haters of deebo and is against the law to the lovers of jimmy

Can't extend someone who doesn't want to bed here, not unless he has a change of heart.

Not til I hear him come out and say that will I believe it.

He already came out and said it imo... he asked to be traded.. he didn't ask for x amount of dollars to be paid.. he asked to get the heck outta here..

Yeah then he made a post about how reporters job is to make stories. That was actually something he said. The demanding a trade was a reporter saying he said that. But it doesn't fit your narrative I know

49erFaithful6's narrative is to overpraise Lance sarcastically because he's still salty about Jimmy failing to live up to the hope we all had in 2017.

Dude, you are trying to make another Jimmy thread.

I don't think the Niners will trade Deebo. No way Kyle signs off on that. I think they'll dump Jimmy, give Deebo his money, spend an early pick on a RB and agree to not use Deebo as a running back with the exception of a few gadget plays. We need to patch this relationship because Deebo is too special.

This!

Yep and he was the most elite WR in the NFL until they moved him to the backfield role part time.

I actually came in here to post something similar. I dont want to trade Deebo, but would much rather do this trade than trade him for draft picks.
Really a none "story" at this point.

Jimmy will be gone then Deebo will get his money, as well as bosa. Deebo won't be traded, there is no market for him because he is not tyreek or davante, until he proves he can be in a year or 2, he is not worth 25M+ and no one will trade two 1st rounders for him as he is worth more than one 1st round pick to unload.

OH and he has a real punchable face. He's perfect for Boston ( I do actually prefer Boston to NYC)

Except he put his team in position to beat Brady in Primetime except his kicker missed a FG. Gave his team the lead late versus Dak only to lose in OT. He beat Justin Herbert.

I think he proved he can hang with the elite

and got absolutely smoked by Josh Allen and the Bills when the rest of team couldn't play at a high level.

You mean the LAC where he completed 51% of his balls and had zero TDs? He didn't beat Justin Herbert lol.

Tom Brady had his worst game of the year lol. completed 50% of his passes for less then 300 yards and no TDs.

Jimmy beat Dak with a broken thumb and a f**ked up shoulder lol.

He hasn't proven s**t. f**k McCorkle. I'm not worried about him and not gonna have a debate about him.

Elite is a tag I would give to Jerry Rice. Not Deebo Samuel. Deebo is very good. He also owes a lot to Kyle Shanahan's offense.

Would be kinda funny since both players have the same agent
