only pay. money. for top talent on D. then TE and OL, QB in that order. rb/wr is just above special teams when it's time to balance budget

The problem is… can we truly maximize this draft capital we obtain for him?

I know I keep saying this but we could potentially get an all pro center and SS/corner.

But we might also draft a bust WR with our first rounder.

That's what I'm worried about.

You could also draft a bust interior OL or DB with the first round pick. Nothing is guaranteed.

And with no pick until 61, how much homework have we done on the top 20 or so prospects in this class? Might be a detriment to trade Deebo now and take a player in the top half of round one...

It depends on what type of offense we are looking at going forward. In the Jimmy G hard run, quick throw in between the hashes offense, wide receiver isn't such a big deal. But if we are going to try to utilize Lance's natural arm talent, we might need to get us one.

Agreed. #32 in passing attempts annually. That said, that makes every single pass ultra meaningful with a massive spotlight on every throw and every passing play. So whoever we bring in better be consistent, reliable, and make the most of limited opportunities.
Trade him!

I love what Deebo did in 2021 but you do not pay for what a player did in the past ! You pay for future production. Give Deebo's $$$$ to Bosa. Get some real draft capital ( MUST BE MULTIPLE PICKS ). If you think back before 2021 you know you thought Brandon Aiyuk was the future 2020 season 60 catches/ 748 yards / 5 TD vs Deebo who had 33 catches / 391 yards / 1TD or 2019 Deebo 57 catches/ 802yards / 3 TD's. Sorry that just does not say $25 Million dollars a year period ! No Team wins a super bowl because of a WR not even Jerry Rice. Deebo is a gadget player, I remember reading mid season of 2021 that we have tried to sign Cordelle Patterson the last two times he has been a FA. Deebo is a creation of the offense and the fact that Kyle wanted a prototype for this role in the last few years proves it. This will be a true test of Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. Can Kyle keep his personal feelings out of the negotiation and will Lynch get the right trade package if we let him go. Go Sign Jarvis Landry and get some rookie talent in the room.

All will be ok, not sure that 2022 will be our year with a new ( pseudo rookie ) QB, I would NOT sign Deebo or give in to his tantrum. Do not get me wrong BIG fan of his 2021 season , seems like a great human being just doesnt warrant $25 Million and bunch of Guaranteed $$$$$ ........ See Dee Ford !

Go Niners

Given our history with high picks it might be a good thing to.

Yeah that's a big concern. Can't stop thinking about the Buckner trade. I want Deebo to stay. Do your job front office.

I hear you. I haven't paid any attention to round 1 since we had no picks.

Is any WR in the Chase territory??? If not then take the lineman/edge/ other star etc as you suggest. There are very good WR in the 2-5 range every draft.

IMO no.

I like Jamison Williams but he's had his injury issues.

To me… we could finally fix our offensive line and truly become the leagues best run offense by a mile if we drafted Zion Johnson or Tyler Linderbaum.

With a trade down we could also nab a high end corner or SS.

That would make our team much more well rounded than we were in 2021.

But do we really trust JL to make that happen? I don't.

If the front office hasn't evaluated every player then it's over before it starts. That would be elementary school bad.

With you on this. Get a plug and play rookie starter in the secondary, interior OL or even bookend tackle to take over for McG.
If Deebo doesn't want to be used where he was most dynamic then where does that leave the Niners? Do you still break the bank to pay him?

wjen shanny started using him as a running back I instantly felt like the team was tempting fate. Especially considering how often our RB's get injured.

But I actually think Deebo was way more important to Jimmy than he would be to Trey.

Trey will need WRs with deep threat ability but the YAC aspect was extremely important to Jimmy's game.. not Trey.
Trade him. Get Shenault to have a similar player.
Use the picks we got for Deebo on OL, EDGE and S.

If Deebo went to the Falcons he'd be demanding a trade by week 3.
