Deebo's an All-Pro WR now that carried the team to an NFCCG. He's not going to accept a contract laden with incentives. Sucks for us, but yeah... this is the time for him to fight for as much guaranteed money as he can possibly get.

I nearly get sick to my stomach everytime I hear "Franchise tag" It's the worse thing possible. Because then it becomes a distraction, your star WR is miserable, and he leaves after that year and you get nothing for him. When 2 years earlier you could have gotten 4 picks including a 1st.
They will work something out. It's a negotiating ploy. To make him seem like he's upset with the 49ers. So they get scared and give in. To give him a big deal.

I'm honestly not sure what I would do here. Deebo is my favorite player in the league and a true one of a kind. A legit game changer and the motor of the offense.
Having said that, what he did last year was not sustainable. Plus his play style and body type causes him to be injury prone.
I see no path to a championship this year or next with Trey Lance learning to play quarterback on the fly, more so than anyone in nfl history. These next two years are also Deebos physical prime.
Therefore, I'd either get him to sign a team friendly deal(which he won't) or trade him for draft picks this and next year. Yes it's taking a major step back this year, but that's what happens when the front office tries to thread the needle in the middle of a super bowl window like this past year.
The worst part about that is this offense goes from scary, to very pedestrian in an off-season. You have one capable receiver in Aiyuck, an elite tight end, hall of fame left tackle, and a great running game due to coaching. Outside of that you are below average everywhere but you do reset and add some guys on Treys timeline with the picks you get.

Love him. But if he wants to be highest paid non QB now then trade him.

I love Deebo and like many on here, he's my favorite playing on the Niners. But it would be foolish for the Niners to pay as the highest non QB in the league. Bosa? Maybe but not Deebo. Perhaps some other league owner will pay him the big bucks, but such money ain't coming from the Niners. My best guess is what the Niners are offering for an extension and what Deebo is demanding are WAY OFF. Even if we land a big bounty for trading Deebo, it will be a sad day in Ninerville if this happens.

Honestly, Deebo still would be a top receiver if he were never used as a RB. He started off the year making huge plays and putting up a ton of yardage as a receiver. The wideback thing came later. I don't think Deebo has to play that style to be a top guy. Personally he wouldn't get more than 50 carries over a 17 game season if I had it my way.
Fortunately for Deebo he broke out in 2021 with Jimmy so there will be a deliberate attempt to make him a focal point in the passing offense when Trey takes over. I'm saying this because I think Aiyuk is going to explode with Trey at QB. With Deebo already established and Kyle committed to using him, Deebo will be worth every penny we sign him for.

i think it would be foolish for deebo to hold out. other teams will have the same questions we have regarding his longterm durability. If he wants to be the highest paid receiver, he needs to prove he is worth that in 2022. One all pro season, an injured season, and a good rookie year aren't enough signal for ANY team.
Niners should call his bluff here.

I imagine he'll put up better numbers with TL at QB now and I'd hate to see him go, but if he want to go and be a diva bout it, GTFO dog

Trade him to the Jets for Becton and their #10 pick and with that pick we get Olave.

There's a hungry team out there that desperately needs offensive talent
Take their best DB, their 1st rd and next year's 1st or 2nd... Eagles might bite

I know this is not a popular opinion because of CMC's injuries but I think the Panthers are the best fit because we get a player back that could do alot of what Deebo does and they have a top 10 pick, Plus we can finally unload Jimmy. What Kyle can do with CMC in this offense and scheme would be amazing. And he is a year younger than Deebo. We would have to take Darnold and his contract though.
Jimmy
Deebo
Darnold
CMC
#6 Pick.
Those being the main pieces. Can add other picks involving both teams.
I would really like to get a known commodity back to go along with the picks so we don't have to strictly rely on hitting with those draft picks. Another option is the Steelers involving Chase Claypool. They would also be another team that might take Jimmy if Deebo came with him.

I'm not in love with this idea, but I can deal if this really happened. It's really creative, we'd have to get best WR with that pick and C/guard with 2nd pick. If CMC stays healthy all year, that's 6th ring right there. That being said, we could definitely get a ring with Deebo if he stays
AND convert Darnold into punter

Look I want this team to pay all their stars but damn if Deebo dead set on trying to be the highest non paid qb I'm thinking and listening for offers on him and I love Deebo. But I'm asking for a kings ransom, if a desperate team like the Jets trade us their 1st pick plus more and throw in Elijah Moore I'm seriously thinking. Can we afford to have the highest paid TE, LT, WR, and soon to be defensive player in Bosa?
