What worries me about paying Deebo $28 Million is what happens if Aiyuk has more chemistry with Trey than Deebo does and he outperforms Deebo next season. It being Aiyuk's 3rd year he will also be due for an extension, What would then be his asking price?

Cowherd is 100% right on the Deebo situation. Franchise him and see if he can stay healthy playing like this.
The problem with this is he loses trade value. We get him for 2 more years and lose him for nothing. I think you either need to extend him this offseason or look to trade him. Right now you could get a haul for him. In a year he won't have that value because teams won't have that a year of him being cheap and they would know the Niners are desperate to move him since things will probally be very sour at that point.
This also cost us ALOT more the next 2 years than just signing him in cap space.

Deebo will only lose value if he has a down year, which means he either signs for less than he wanted or we just tag him and hope he bounces back. I do agree though that his value is currently higher than it probably will ever be. If we can get a 1st in the 10-20 range and another early day 2 pick, it's going to be hard to pass that up.

There are other things to consider, of course. But I will grant you this. Since it's likely Deebo's value is at or near its peak, if you are going to trade him, you do it now. Strike while the iron is hot. That being said, I am not on board with trading him. You figure out a way to keep a player like him.

That's why you have to extend him this offseason if you decide not to trade him. Can't do neither.

I love Deebo. He is the bright shining example of I'm nowhere near as good at evaluating WR's as I like to think. I literally sat in a Texas Roadhouse bar area with the ex-wife out to dinner watching the draft on their TV and said "Anyone but Deebo, anyone but Deebo, please not Deebo!" and then a very loud "PHUCK" when he was the pic. I got icy stares from several of the surrounding tables.
As I said I really am a huge fan, there are games last year we lose if not for Deebo taking over and willing us to victory. The dude is a unique talent, an absolute stud. Having said that if he wants to be paid top non QB money and we intend to continue to use him in the manner we have I would trade him if they are getting offers similar+ to the Hill package. If the Jets want him I'd start negotiations at the 10th pick.

It wouldn't surprise me If we see Aiyuk become the focal point of the offense now that Lance Is the soon to be starting QB.

I would rather trade his diva a** than to pay him just so he can be hurt half the year. Get a couple picks and players and let's go!

It's just a negotiating tactic. You can always franchise tag him. I wouldn't worry about it. He just wants more money. Something will get worked out.

His deal has to be loaded with conditions. He's played 1 full season.

I nearly get sick to my stomach everytime I hear "Franchise tag" It's the worse thing possible. Because then it becomes a distraction, your star WR is miserable, and he leaves after that year and you get nothing for him. When 2 years earlier you could have gotten 4 picks including a 1st.

All in all... No need to fret. His value is high. Teams will covet a young All-Pro WR that can do it all.
If we can agree on a contract, great, but we shouldn't overspend. If the price tag is too high, trade him for a boatload of picks and/or a player.
