Deebo is worth whatever but I'm concerned about his longevity.

Which is a concern, but that was the thing Shanahan told Deebo in the offseason was to really work on his conditioning and taking care of his body, because it should help cut down on the nagging injuries.
He's seemed to take that to heart. He's so much more explosive this season, and so far, so good, as far as health goes.

Deebo definitely worked on that in the offseason, he's more explosive than he was in 2019, and he was really good in 2019, 2020 was all due to the foot injury at camp Jimmy, 2021 is the Deebo we all knew he could be, I loved the pick from day 1.

Dude is a legit weapon, who has breakaway speed. Should be paid as much.
Kyle making him a RB so they pay him as a RB. This is smart cap management.
mckinnons contract was 30Million for 4 years.
I think Deebo's range is $16M-$18M a yr, he'll likely want to beat what Kupp got, which was $15.75M a yr, and he's well worth whatever we do give him, I don't see them not paying him, and Bosa, both should get new deals this offseason.
16 - 18 Million a year?![]()

Holy
!
If McCaffrey can get $16M as a RB, then Deebo, as basically a WR & RB, can and deserve that much.

Kittle's at $15m a year as one of the top 2 TE's in the league, but doesn't play a premium position.
WR is a premium position. The top 5 WR's are around $20-22m and Deandre Hopkins is at $27m/yr I believe.
Deebo has been our one consistent shining star on offense, and so much of it revolves around him. He's about to break 1000 yards. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he gets past 1500 yards, but am expecting less targets with Aiyuk stepping up. I'm guessing he'll finish around 1400 yards.
If we can get him at $16-18m year, and he stays healthy, and has this kind of production in both the pass/run game… thatd be huge.
Yeah that WR number is really skewed, cause you have Hopkins at $27.25M a yr, then the next is Julio at $22M, and Keenan Allen at $20.025M.
But like I said, if McCaffrey, who I should mention is way more injury prone than Deebo is, can get $16M a yr, then Deebo is worth that, and maybe more.

Suddenly he's the best player on the team. What a rise.

The thing is, at the time when McCaffrey signed that contract, he played all 16 games for all 3 seasons and . He became injured prone after that contract. There is no way he would get that same contract today.

That would be a huge bargain for Deebo. That would never happen.

I feel like he's proving himself to be a nightmare wherever he's at. Defenses are going to start focusing on him wherever he's at. If we put him at RB, and then slide Elijah Mitchell or Jeff Wilson to RB, now there's a big screen option threat there too.
And Deebo could potentially run RB routes out of the backfield and he's going to command so much attention.
I envision that he's going to start to take on a Steph Curry role where the defense's focus just gravitates to him. That's going to bode well for Kittle and Aiyuk.
I'd love anything that would allow Kittle to be a more consistent pass catcher in this offense. I think we have the potential to be a dominant passing team and a dominant run team. Unfortunately passing 35 + just doesn't work for us- yet.

I was listening to KNBR the other day and they were saying Deebo is the typical WR teams are going to be looking for. Every team now wants a Deebo, he can do it all.
I tend to agree. As NC stated in another thread, now they have to find the next tyreek hill 2.0 that can take the top off defenses, to complement Deebo and Aiyuk.
We'd have to settle for a speed guy with bad hands and subpar route skills. Would be great to get a Marquise Goodwin type player that was dedicated to football on day 3. Honestly that would be enough. Said player would only need 20 to 30 catches but the catches would likely go for 500 yards.

He's a remarkable player. That said I wouldn't play him at RB too much. You could get him hurt like that. He does bring a lot to this teams offense. There are so many things he can do.

I fully agree, but the competitive side of me says this is why we play the game...if it's working good then keep at it. Plus it's going to set so many other options open too, as we will use Deebo as a decoy at RB and just opens up the playbook by keeping the D on their toes. But hot damn he knows how to run, and that is a thing of beauty to have.

Exactly. As teams begin to key on Deebo, it will only help Kittle and Aiyuk.
