I fully agree, but the competitive side of me says this is why we play the game...if it's working good then keep at it. Plus it's going to set so many other options open too, as we will use Deebo as a decoy at RB and just opens up the playbook by keeping the D on their toes. But hot damn he knows how to run, and that is a thing of beauty to have.
Exactly. As teams begin to key on Deebo, it will only help Kittle and Aiyuk.
Yup, what a chess piece this guy is.

It pays to remember last week that Elijah took the Rams apart. He just flat azz ran over and thru them. Elijah did NOT suit up today with a fractured finger and surgery on his finger 4 days ago.
With no Elijah, we don't run on Jags as we did today…UNLESS…we have Deebo back there putting on an Elijah show. I think he had 89 yds on 10 carries or something like that for almost 9 yds/carry. So no, i don't like to see Deebo do this all the time, but we now know for sure…as does the rest of the league…that Deebo is just as good a runner as Elijah.
We had to have him run today because Sermon and Wilson weren't going to get runs like that. I think both had 3.3 yds/ carry or close. If Elijah can't go against Vikes, then look for more Deebo in the backfield. But if Elijah can go, then we got Aiyuk, Kittle and Deebo on routes.
Like most i like that best but meantime, if we need Elijah's talent and he can't play, we got Deebo.

We need to sign and pay him, when it's time to do so.... no f**king Buckner BS.
Dude is a legit weapon, who has breakaway speed. Should be paid as much.
Kyle making him a RB so they pay him as a RB. This is smart cap management.
mckinnons contract was 30Million for 4 years.
I think Deebo's range is $16M-$18M a yr, he'll likely want to beat what Kupp got, which was $15.75M a yr, and he's well worth whatever we do give him, I don't see them not paying him, and Bosa, both should get new deals this offseason.
16 - 18 Million a year?
Holy
!
If McCaffrey can get $16M as a RB, then Deebo, as basically a WR & RB, can and deserve that much.
Just checked OTC, the 49ers have (currently) 19 million in dead cap money. If the cap is at 208 millon in 2022, plus they move on from Jimmy, they can easily do a 4 year massively front loaded contract for Deebo in the price range you are looking at. If they keep Jimmy, I can see retaining Deebo will be a lot more challenging.

Totally agree with you Deebo is what the rams thought they were getting when they drafted Tavon Austin. Deebo is just bigger and more physical IMO

Hurd was supposed to be Deebo 2.0, but when you're too fragile to even play in a regular season game in 3 years, you probably weren't going to be like Deebo.

They should extend him right now. If they let Deebo walk they're crazy. He's the most dangerous WR in the game. He can literally lineup anywhere on the field and kill a defense

It's football. The way to win is to get the balls to your best players and let them play. Deon Sanders was a returner. Other top teams have their top players touching the ball the most.
I am still a believer of letting players play both ways if they are better than what you have. The goal is to win, not to not get hurt.

Yeah, we need to extend him this offseason. He's our best player on offense - he deserves a nice contract going foward.
