HOT DAMN
No INTs again. Look out, 5-2. First place. The Alex Smith haters were saying before the year, "let's see what he can do with a team w/ no talent. If they get the playoffs he'll finally get credit."
Get them knee pads ready. Alex is slaying. Dude is a winner. Holy hell, what a story.

If they make the playoffs, that alone is huge. Team isn't that good.
Alex's low TOs, ball control, game manager, boring stuff helps the defense out.
Dude is shutting everyone up

The haters are now saying that Washington in winning in spite of Alex not because of him. It's all Peterson and a surprisingly good defense.
I do have to say I was not optimistic when Guice went down..but Adrian has been amazing. He just needs to stay healthy.

Exactly.
Washington had a 7 minute advantage in time of possession. Even though the defense is proving to be quite good, allowing them to have plenty of rest time will only make them better. As a team sees how protecting the football can help a team win despite not having great talent, they all begin to play that way...and win.
Here is an interesting stat line from yesterday:
Smith completed 20 of 32 passes for 178 yards and one TD with no INTs...and won.
Drew Brees completed 18 of 23 for only 120 yards. One TD. One INT. Won. (Brees only attempted one pass over 20 yards.)

Intangible is uncredible. If it didn't happen on a stat line it didn't happen. LOL

They're winning but they don't look good and they're relying on a 49 year old back. What was KC's record last year at this point? I still think they're 8-8 like they were with Cousins every year.

Damn, looking at the schedule, I can see them not losing at all. One thing is for sure, all this team needed was a bell cow RB and a safe efficient QB.

Alex also puts his HBs in a position to succeed. With a new offense and an aging Adrian Peterson, it's hard to say how much of that is Alex and how much of that is a future HoF running back.

I feel Alex is one of the best QBs in the league at checking into the right play at the LOS.

This is exactly why we get into so many arguments and discussion in this thread. Alex fans attribute things like this to his play, when in reality it has nothing to do with him.
The Redskins had a 7 minute advantage in time of possession because the Giants went 2 for 14 on third down. The Redskins themselves were not converting a ton of third downs and staying on the field. They were 6 for 15 on third down (which is below the NFL average this season for conversions). The defense is the reason for the advantage, regardless if people want to make it about Alex.

6-2. Injuries were beginning to have an impact after the 7th game last year.
Skins are 5-2, tied for the 3rd best record in the league, and doing it with what anyone would consider much less talent offensive talent than KC.

Hey, I'm still salty the niners did Alex dirty, and put Kaep in.
Salty too, but I'd never wish him to slight the 9ers. Besides, we all know he never would.
Who did Alex dirty?
