So if anyone has the technological know-how go to 0:29 - 0:33 of this video... If you could make a slow motion gif of the throwing motions of Garoppolo and Beathard as they throw simultaneously and add a line that traces the elbow of both these QBs from the video below. It seems like it could blow up on the internet as a teaching tool for younger QBs. Throughout the entire sequence you see Jimmy G has no wasted motion in his throw and compare that to Beathard... especially when watching the path of the elbows through the throw.

Note: Watch Jimmy's hand placement on the ball at the 0:31 second mark. No laces, he doesnt use the laces of the football which helps get the ball out quicker.
More importantly: Take your throwing hand and form a "C" (backwards if right handed), that is how Garoppolo throws the ball. Now take your hand and form a "U", thats how Beathard throws the ball. Throwing with a C grip allows a QB to both drive the ball and still allows them to be accurate on touch throws. QBs that throw with a U grip have their passes often sail on them when trying to hit touch throws. Look at any film of any QB, this holds up the overwhelming majority of the time. It is also what Brady has written down in his locker for game day.

The 4 seconds from 0:29 to 0:33 with a tracer on the elbow and a pause at 0:31 to highlight hand position will teach whoever wants to know perfect technique.

"The then-sophomore linebacker — who was perhaps better known as a high-school basketball
star at the time in 2007 — came to Christensen for a crash course on how to throw a football before
switching over to QB before his junior year at Rolling Meadows (Ill.) High"

Jeff Christensen …

How new 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, learned to throw like Tom Brady
Throw more like Tom Brady, less like (old) Aaron Rodgers

Maybe you've seen these articles … maybe you haven't. If you haven't heard of Jeff Christensen,
and his relationship with Jimmy Garoppolo … then do yourself a favour, and check the articles.

Definitely will, I was going off of some stuff I heard from Joel Klatt who I went to CU with. He's been killing it in broadcasting and is where I pulled the fact that Brady has a list before every game in his locker to focus on and the first items on every list are technique related. Thank you for the heads up.

The real good thing about Jimmy G is that now were don't have to hear no more about whether Alex Smith is better than Kaeppernick or visa versa.

Jimmy G is better then both put together.

I will go further than that, I will not take any other QB in the league over Jimmy, period!!

Maybe the Alex Smith hype train thread can disappear now and the fans can join us here.?

For a minute I thought he was coming back 😜

Jax has played a hamburger schedule. They dont impress me much...

I think they're a really good defense but you make a fair point, they're playing the Texans, Colts and Titans twice and with Jimmy G we'd have 6/6 wins with that schedule.
I think they lost to the Titans and then went and signed a runnstopper, which is why we have Sheldon Day.

I don't see us winning but I want to take them close and I think we should be putting the ball on Hyde and then using plenty of play action.
Jimmy GQ for the national media, but we all know it's really Jimmy Gspot
