It seems to me the NFL wants to make Jimmy G their next poster boy.
If somehow the 49ers win this game, the media will go nuts! Lynch will just need to tell Parag to write up the contract and give him whatever he wants.

I can't believe we got him for a second round pick.

Jimmy G Spot for President.

He just makes everything right...

If Richard Sherman can get national exposure with commercials, the least Jimmy G gets is a lead in a Hollywood movie.

Let's hope he doesn't do a porno.

Harbaugh was in saved by the bell, as Screech's cousin, I think. I can see Jimmy GQ be an extra in Star Wars or something, maybe with the next Thor/Spider Man movie.

The real good thing about Jimmy G is that now were don't have to hear no more about whether Alex Smith is better than Kaeppernick or visa versa.

Jimmy G is better then both put together.

I will go further than that, I will not take any other QB in the league over Jimmy, period!!

Call me a homer, but same here. Maybe Rodgers, but he is gettin older and Jimmy G just gettin started.

I think Young has the best stats for first 3 starts.

With age taken into account maybe Wentz too, the other top QBs are either just too old or JG has shown to have more potential than already.

I gotta give some credit to York. It took balls to install Lynch as the GM, especially after mishandling everything since 2012. And without Lynch, who has a great personal relationship Belicheck, this deal doesnt happen. Remember Lynch was a player/coach for the pats for a preseason before retiring. Without Lynch here, BB probably continues to believe this organization is just the NFC Browns and looks for another bidder.

By doing the right thing and giving long term deals for a coach/gm combo, York pushed over the first domino in the events that led to this. Now if he could only make the right decision more often than once every ~ 5 years.

I am so excited about Garoppolo, his decision making, poise and quick passes are all a dream come true

But I'm concerned all this all this cheering and recognition from The team he is getting may affect him... truly, he played 3 teams so far with bottom 10 defenses, no team has been able to properly game plan for him yet due to lack of enough game tape. One reason for his success has been him studying under tom Brady with relative anonymity and getting better at his trade without any pressure or distraction. Besides all this constant talk about him will undoubtedly raise his price and we may need to pay him top 3 QB MONEY!

I am really excited to see what he can do against Jags defense and if he can put up 200 yards and more TD than int and avoid sacks I will consider this a win!!
"I'd say, 'OK, throw this 16-yard dig route and put it an inch above his eyebrows and he would do it seven times in a row,'' Christensen said. "I told him, 'Jimmy, you're an NFL starting quarterback, son. Get that in your mind right now. So when this national media thing happens, you're not shocked. Mentally prepare yourself. Stay the great kid you are. Expect nothing, appreciate everything.' ''

Growing up with three brothers kept Garoppolo grounded enough to handle the hype suddenly surrounding the quarterback who never envisioned any when taking over an 0-4 team as a true freshman. The Walter Payton Award given the top FCS player looks within Garoppolo's grasp. Christensen compares his footwork to Aaron Rodgers' and his poise to Tom Brady's. He is the Jimmy Football of the mid-majors, minus the bravado.

"I don't have problems like Johnny Manziel — there are a lot less students here than Texas A&M,'' Garoppolo said, chuckling. "There was no bragging in my house. Acting that way wasn't right. Nobody wants to be around anybody who's arrogant.''

In the coming months as his football celebrity expands, the number of people who want to be around Garoppolo will increase significantly. His life will change. Those closest to him insist he won't.

"You can tell he wasn't raised in a roller-coaster family,'' Babers said. "If you look up humility in the dictionary, you will find a picture of Jimmy Garoppolo.''
