This was his year and that was never gonna change unless he got hurt. This was also the off season to go in a different direction at QB past 2021. That was my point for the past year. Could I be a little blunt in regard to what Jimmy is in my eyes, sure. Didn't mean I hated the dude or think he's the worst QB in the league.

My debate for the most part, was how much he was getting paid during a covid cap season. He's currently the 2nd highest paid player in the playoffs (only behind Rogers) let's keep s**t real here and understand that's stupid. Is what it is now, Kyle and Co wanted to go this route and for the most part it's paid off. We will see what Lance is BUT I f**king hope the Jimmy can do no wrong and he's the QB so you support him crowd, apply that SAME energy to Lance....at least for the 1st 4 years of his career.

His winning record is almost entirely due to his supporting cast and coach. The only people kidding themselves are the ones believing hes the guy for the job.

LOL at giving props to you take as widely accepted.

Ypu are always ragging on Shanahan for being a poor analyzer of qb talent not knowing who should start on offense.

I don't think Kyle has been kidding himself.

Su h a weird take to come in with as a new poster after a huge win.

i agree

i think the definition on delusional is thinking you know more than Shanahan

Seriously you both spinning s**t and it's sad. I said I would have like trey to start at the beginning of the season for the future of the team and to get the rookie mistakes out of the way. And everything I stated is not delusional it's pretty much the headlines of every sport show going into this packers game. Get out of the bubble

im not in a bubble i think Jimmy can be upgraded

but we will see the ultimate test will be next year. If Jimmy didnt bring much to the team we should make the playoffs easily and likely make a playoff run

That's a ShanaLynch and Paraag moneyball issue.

Even then, he's simply paid within the realm of a starting playoff QB today.

As to if we're getting our money's worth? So far so good...Superbowl and into the Divisional round of the playoffs. But that's up to Kyle and the FO and they've decided to go cheaper.

You should see how many "overpaid" QB's didn't even make these playoffs or are already bounced.

Once again delusion. Expecting a kid making his 3rd start next year to be held at same standard as a 30 year qb. Makes sense. Pretty sure there will be bumps

i agree they will be bumps but i am so high on Lance in long term he was my #1 pick going into draft process while everyone wanted Fields who i wasnt a big fan of.

But either Jimmy brings something or he doesn't if hes a bad QB holding this team back and a liability than Lance should be able to come in no problem. Youre the one who said Jimmy is a complete liability and is completely holding this team back not me. And if that's true my point is Lance should have no problem making a playoff run next year

edit: and im not saying this wont happen i think its likely Lance makes a playoff run but that being said he was also defintiely not ready this year that much was clear based on the play and that was expected my hope was always to draft Lance start Jimmy and move on from him in this upcoming year as many can attest) but my point remaains that during the regular season we were #1 offense in yards/play and #1 RZ offense that doesnt happen with a bad qb

Go Niners!

I hope the kid gets a fair shake to develop. Being down on a 21 year old raw project isn't nearly the same as an 8 year vet making almost 30 mil a season.

This fan base demands greatness at QB and won't accept anything less. And it also doesn't help that we used 3 1st and a 3rd for Trey. We'll see. But the toxicity some are spewing on a QB with one foot out the door, and amidst a playoff run and after beating longtime rival, gives me reason to pause.

Nothing wrong with this.

But the issue is every other aspect of this team and football as a team game, the energy is barely a blip on the radar.

Fans thinking a well proportionally paid QB is going to transcend everything else wrong with the team are in for another rude awakening.

And the Trey thread will only be proof of that.

Faithful, it's what we do...looooooong standing tradition.

Agree. Basically (I think) the Jimmy fans and the Trey fans will just switch sides when Trey is going to be QB 1 next year. Nothing wrong with that as long as they don't annoy, harass or personally attack others. Debates are healthy as long as they remain *healthy* - if you get what I mean.

I love critiquing QB play and if you're going to obsess over just one thing, QB is the position to do it.

That said, when that's ALL one can see, it's a real problem in here...no matter what side you're on.
I'm not blind. I know he's inconsistent. He's not the most talented, and he's injury prone.

With that said, this team just seems like a special team with him. When he's in the game i feel they can beat anyone. Sometimes talent alone is not enough.

I've accepted that this is his last hurrah. I'm hoping it ends with a championship.
Its up to Jimmy this weekend to silence most of those criticizing him. I hope he has a complete game and shocks the Packer fans.

We've been down this road, he only counts cap cash paid this year even though no other metric counts cap cash in a single year as any metric.

Why wouldn't we use cap cash paid this season? Isn't that the whole point? How much has he counted against the cap for this season?

Agree with both.
A lot of QBing is unseen. The intangibles. I mean *any* pro QB can mechanically throw the winning Joe Montana game pass to John Taylor. But can they do it under extreme pressure and under the spotlight in front of millions of fans watching? Can they inspire their team to have another 70+ yard drive for a TD with only less than two minutes left in the game? A lot of that intangibles *leadership* quality is hard to see on game film. It's easier to talk about what you can see on film. It's harder to show how a QB's intangibles affect how a team practices, improves their overall game, and instills that die hard confidence that you can defeat any foe in any game in the NFL. Jimmy has a lot of elite intangibles, and the problem with that, is most fans can't see it - and that's ok, because you literally *can't see QB intangibles.*

You did post this:

Kyle definitely thinks he is the man foe the job right now.

This is the average for their contract. Rodgers for example got paid 21m, Wilson got paid 19m, Wentz 20.4m, Josh Allen 3.5m, Dak 9m, Mahomes 22.8m this season compared to GQ's 24.1m.

Only Ryan, Cousins, and Goff got paid more than JQ this year.
