There's no real game-planning any which way. Fangio's defense is a tough one to go against, that's not to make excuses more to say it's no reason to hit the panic button.

The only real thing we can know for certain after that game is that Denver's defense is going to be legit. Like, scary. Fangio has always been a great defensive guy and now he has two MONSTER pass rushers to play with as well. His defense is tailor made for that kind of scenario. I'd be surprised if they're not the #1 defense this year.

Jimmy didn't look good, but he's going to start week 1.

saying denver has a good defense does not excuse or pardon the putrid display by our offensive line in pass protection.

The good thing about Garoppolo's obvious struggles is that it's all between the ears. There's nothing the defense is doing to him he needs to figure out. He just needs to get clocked once or twice and realize he's okay.

if Vic knows what Shanahans intentions are, why can't Shanhan predict/adjust to what VIcs intentions are? Maybe give JG some screens, short passes, establish the running game to soften the pass rush until the second defense enters the field.
i think kyle thinks he will just wow teams. then when teams actually adjust., kyle is either unable or unwilling to respond in kind. remember kyle has only proven he can be a good OC and not a head coach. i understand cc has went and down it but it is the truth
C'mon man, that's the most hater comment ever. No coach has ever actually believed that. Many will be confident in their chess game abilities but they still know it's all about execution by the players on the field. That's why Walsh, Holmgren and Shanny sr were absolute sticklers about every last detail of every play. Because for things to work later, they have to work now. When that happens, it's unstoppable. But they never expect themselves to just, "wow" everybody.

Also, what have teams done to, "adjust" to Kyle's system? For real? I want to know. You guys act like this was an actual game with a game-plan and scripted plays. It wasn't. We didn't even see Jimmy run a bootleg slide concept which is a staple of this offense. It looked like we ran 2 of the oldest concepts in the game just to get some simple reads going. We ran a couple china concepts and a slant/flat. I couldn't see what the other batted pass was, but it wasn't like we were running the kinds of plays Shanny is so great at. Why show that stuff in pre-season? No point. You can work on it in practice just as easily.

Don't know why Jimmy just doesn't throw it away. Even if he completes those passes... they were for what... 5 yards? Risk/reward just not worth it.

20/30 for 251 yards and 2 TD's

I'm sure they're gonna talk about it. I've seen Brady get strip sacked, Brees throw picks from the same type of thing. It's all good, man. Sometimes Jimmy throws picks, sometimes he takes care of the ball very, very well. It's still a process of learning risk/reward. Young didn't really get that figured out til he was like 30

I'm not a Garoppolo hater. I like him and want him to crush it. But I don't know that using Brady/Brees comparisons are fair at this point. Yes, everybody gets strip sacked. Everybody throws picks. The current issue we are dealing with is that he made some god awful decisions.

He looked nervous and shell shocked. If they don't put up 2 td's verse the worst defense in the league Saturday then I'll be officially concerned. Hopefully it's more rust than anything. I think KS really needs to let these guys hit more in TC. O line looks like they haven't had real contact. My god I cna't believe our interior o line is this bad. But he has tot stop throwing off his back foot and not stepping into passes. Looked like a guy who just hans't had enough reps which he hasn't. Sometimes I forget the guy hasn't even played 16 actual games yet.

That's silly.

First of all we may still be missing 2 OLs, at least one in Richburg. It's on the road in one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.

I doubt we'll be game planning or rolling out anything legit scheme wise. It will still be vanilla for the most part but we may hopefully throw in some PA in there to give him some better looks(which of course also opens him up to some huge hits if the D doesn't bite and protection breaks down)

But that Chiefs D isn't the same, they've played fairly well so far in preseason so putting those expectations in there is crazy.

I'd just like to see him look more comfortable and make some better decisions.

We may be missing Richburg for a minute. I expect them to be able to win games without him. It's not like he played well last year. I got expectations for this offense but you have a point b/c they struggled to put up points in the 1st half versus a s**t defense last year. I know they won't be game planing but at what point do we see our guys just wining matchups and making plays. I still think the Chiefs defense will be total garbage.

He has a whopping 10 starts under his belt and the oline is terrible. PP is worse now than when JG got here.

I don't complete disagree with his lack of experience but he is not a rookie. He worked with Brady/Bellick for 2 years and did not start until week 12. That is a long time that is not afforded to most rookie QBs. He has had lots of time to acclimate himself to the game under one of the best QB/coaching tandems ever. Not to mentioned he has been in this offense for 1.5 years under a offence minded coach whom has a good history of QBs. He should have shown up ready to play both mentally and physically last night and he did not; that is my concern. He look unsure of himself.

I also do not disagree that the line played poorly but as an elite highly paid QB, JG is suppose to make his OL look good with quick reads, fast release and a look of confidence. I did not see that. This why he got paid, to have these traits.
I'm pretty sure by week 5 no one will be remembering this game.

A common refrain after a poor preseason game. I hope you're right.
You can put the blame all on Garopollo if you wan't, but it was a combination of things that caused his poor performance. He had a lot of rust to shake off with little time to do it in, not to mention that he was playing behind a back-up center and right guard. The play calling was pretty vanilla too, but if it were a real game I'm sure that Shanahan and Garoppolo could have dialed it up and adapted. The bright side is that Garoppolo didn't get hurt and will be able to to have another chance to get his mojo back. If you want to be one of the media idiots like Grant Gohen who get a hard on every time Jimmy G fails, then you got issues. But whatever... Go Niners!

That's such a false narrative. First off, how do you know whats in his head? Second, he wasn't getting any protection. No QB looks good when hes forced to get rid of the ball way too early.

I swear, people are still on the same crap from the Alex Smith days. Defensive players on top of the QB as soon as the ball is snapped, and somehow the outcome is the QB's fault.

Ok, then how do you know? The alternative is much, much worse. Defend Jimmy.
