The fact is, he has consistently been one of the top 15 guards in the league for the past three years.

Is Tomlinson worth $9M a yr? Maybe, I'd say yes, will the 49ers pay him $9M a yr? I doubt it, they won't pay a CB more than $10M a yr(Sherman was $9.05M a yr, up to $13.05M with incentives), if Tomlinson is willing to take $5.5M a yr again, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

This is a tough one because they can't win the negotiations when he's been healthy every year. He might get full market value here.

Doesnt the cap go up quite a bit? Couple that with Garoppolo's departure they should be able to pay him and load up this roster

He's going to get more than 9 million a season if we let him hit F/A. O line is in demand in the NFL today and there are more teams in need than vice versa.

I say he's 9 million max... if he asks for more than that, I'm sorry but GOOD LUCK.. he's been a positive addition to the team, but at the same time, we need to spend the money wisely, especially that our D is overrated... we need more DBs..

His contract has been a bargain the past three years. He is as steady as it gets, and never misses a game. We talk about improving the right side of the line but the 49ers need to bring back their left guard. He is a key re-sign. Give him a three year deal that's really a two year deal.

I did kinda think the early round pick for an OG in the last draft was partially insurance in case Tomlinson was too expensive to keep.

We need to be powering up the O line, not letting it slowly bleed away. We need to resign him. What does a young, developing qb most need? Protection.
