Only contract I would offer him would be one that is incentive heavy (production, play time, etc.).

Both him and Mitchell are injury prone. Mitchell would be better off with a complimentary bruising back in short yard situations. Kind of like Leonard Fournette type…

That'll work - have Mostert be Mitchell's primary back up and find a bruiser for short yardage, to compliment Mitchell.
Hopefully Sermon can step it up next year and be that bruiser like back.

RB's are easy replacements we all saw we got a gem in the 6th round this past year.

Time to let did injury prone back walk.......
Hopefully he doesn't get hurt in the process

Pretty much this. I'd look for another back like him, but you can't just expect you are going to find that player in the draft. The Chiefs wanted another burner and came away with Mecole Hardman. Solid player, but a clear example of how there are levels to "speed." Mostert is on another level. The guy had a whopping two rushes this year- for a total of 20 yards. Nine yards on one rush, eleven on the other, and then he got hurt. He is just a big play waiting to happen. Teams can't play us the same, even with 8 in the box. You absolutely offer that incentive laden deal.

He isn't just any running back. It's annoying and while I think Elijah Mitchell will be a great back if he keeps this up, there is a difference between the two. Kyle's dad was known for finding running backs anywhere and although he got production out of the position for well over a decade, there was a hug difference between every back he found and a Terrell Davis or even a Clinton Portis. The drop off to the 3rd best back for MIke was huge. Jef Wilson is a productive back and I like him. But let's not act like Wilson, or Hasty, or Breida, or even Mitchell are Raheem Mostert. You at least offer a deal that protects the team. If he walks, that's his choice. But you don't let him go without at least trying.

This. All 49ers fan should see the difference between Mostert and any other back. He's got more home run ability than maybe any other RB in the NFL not named Jonathan Taylor.

I think it's almost guaranteed that he leaves for Miami.

Yeah he's from Florida so I expect this to happen.

Buuuuuut the Dolphins did also trade for a Speedy former 9er RB who had one good 9er season.... and the Dolphins didn't end up keeping him after.

I hope they are hesitant with signing Mostert, after that past experience with Matt Breida.

Honestly, it makes so much sense for Mostert to follow McDaniel. McDaniel is specifically credited for his run game, so if there's a guy that's going to utilize Mostert well outside of San Francisco, it's him.

We need Mostert here. If he still cheetah. He and Mitchell need to split carries.

As much as I like Mostert, I think FA priorities will probably mean he leaves. We have several very good RBs, and we need to dedicate our FA dollars elsewhere. I'll be happy for him wherever he goes.

Not good enough RBs. Mostert has Tyreek Hill like speed, you don't let that walk out the door.

You do if he's not durable. Roger Craig wasn't the fastest or most explosive, but he was always available and helped the team win super bowls. As much as I love Mostert's speed. An OLineman can beat him speedwise if he's on the bench or rehabbing.
Yeah dude, but Mostert is greased lightning. One minute you on 50 yrd line, the next minute you in the endzone with a TD, you don't let that walk out the door unless you have a guaranteed replacement, and right now you don't.

Not a fan of the backs we have behind Mitchell we can get a good value in the draft in the mid rounds rookies come dirt cheap so unless MOSTLYhurt takes a 1 year minimum prove it deal. Let him walk another team can break the bank for this injury prone back

Hilarious. He's already proved it. he makes shanny's ideas work.

He's tough. Already come back from a gruesome injury to provide for his family.

We can throw a few mil at this guy and let him work his way back into shape WITH A FEW LIGHT CARRIES HERE AND THERE UNTIL TURKEY DAY.

Then, ramp him up to 7-10 carries per. Release tchalla.

Love how he finds breaks to the outside.

Talk about giving dc's a heart attack.

Dude is half a step away from taking it to the house, always.

Mosert is that home run threat every time he touches the ball. Have to keep him. Mitchell is fast and he's nothing compared to Mosert.

This might be the worst take I've seen on this board, Mosert's speed isn't teachable. Yeah he gets hurt so
be it. He'll have Mitchell next year to burden the load.

Mostert has rare break away speed. Hill had a quicker 40 but Mostert's top speed has been clocked higher. Once he hits the hole and sees daylight, the only way he gets stopped is if a DB has an angle. That's the reason I would make every effort to find a wat to fit him under the cap.
