MALCOLM SMITH WILL BE READY
The 49ers' biggest free-agent splash on defense in free agency last year was linebacker Malcolm Smith. This year, they expect that move to pay off.

Smith missed the entire season due to a torn pectoral sustained in training camp. Lynch said Smith should be ready for full participation when the 49ers' offseason program begins in April.

"Malcolm is doing great," Lynch said. "Right at the start of offseason, he'll be full-bore. I've been assured of that. . . . (I'm) excited to see him in a 49ers uniform. We're excited to see him play for us."

Smith is. Just as much the athlete, elite play recognition ability, and NO trouble.

I hope you're referring to Roquan Smith.
Oh that's right. Roquan. Too many Smiths in football. In my post above I thought Lifelong was talking about Malcolm.
i was talking about malcom.. lots of people have high hopes for him. i hope they are right but i think he will be average. i would not mind the rookie named smith. but now i think we would be better served by signing a good free agent , finding a nice linebacker in round three. use the first two picks. unless lynch trades down god willing. to address our glaring needs on the o line and getting a quality corner
I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about LifelongNiner and was wondering which Smith he was talking about when he was talking about Smith having elite play recognition.

I definitely was talking about Roquan Smith

I hope he's ready. He hasn't played football in two years.
