WHEW.

Exactly, my feelings. Cousins trade still very much in play.

adds leverage towards us also lol. we have almost unlimited leverage. Lynch has to be evil and take full advantage of the dysfunctional train that is the redskins

It's a huge jump to conclusions when people say that the Cousins trade isn't happening due to signing Hoyer. Shoot the new league year hasn't even started yet.

Agree

I think it is still very possible but we get a bit more breathing room and has major pluses for us

True, I bet the farm their GM is drinking again.

This could be a move that let's WAS know the 49ers don't need to get Cousins this year since the 49ers now have a vet QB in Hoyer. Thus improving the 49ers leverage because they won't be as desperate as they would be had they there been zero QBs on the 49er roster. I don't think signing Hoyer automatically means Cousins trade talk is off.

If WAS wants a draft pick, then we have all the leverage. They should just take a 2nd rounder for Cousins otherwise they gonna get nothing next year.

They should be happy to get our third.
We have a quarterback signed. Excellent.

This
I was expecting this all along. Makes a lot of sense if Kyle going to pick a qb in the draft he wants to develop. Getting Hoyer kinda gave the draft move away lol

So did I. I figured Hoyer or Shaub and of the two I'd much rather have Hoyer.

Nice smart signing. Means the FO is keeping their options open without charging after cousins and overpaying or reaching at #2 for a QB... But still leaving those options open too.
This isn't sexy just practical. Oh s**t I forgot he wears #2. Still better than Gabbert, right?

This. Hoyer is a career backup....why the expectation that he will be the starter now? They probably told him that he has a decent shot at starting IF a trade can't be worked out for Cousins.

Like the insiders have said i doubt he signs with SF if Cousins was realistic this year.

Plenty of "insiders" have said Cousins will be a Niner this year.

It's still anyone's guess what will happen.

Hoyer will be ok through the season. He may be up and down, but I think he'll provide a point man for the new guys to Kyle's offense. You need 1 game in the playoffs, he's not it. But we're not going to the playoffs. Maybe I'm selling Shanny and the team short
Still better than Kaepercrap

Or possible they could get a QB in the 1st round who will compete with Hoyer and if he doesn't get the job 1st year he sits behind Hoyer for a year.

No most said Shanahan wants Cousins but never said it would be this year.
