Who should be Baalke's replacement, if he finally gets fired?

Young up and comer is the no-brainer option. But because of the Dorks it will never happen

I don't get the dissing of Gamble...he's earned his reputation as an excellent personnel man. He's not calling the shots now as Baalke's asst GM, so why the disrespect? He should be a top candidate, IMHO. At any rate I'd go more old school...Mike Lombardi. Why? Check out his resume and compare it to anyone else...he's the only guy who's worked for Belichick, Al Davis and Bill Walsh. He knows how to scout and draft good football players...he's got tons of experience. I'm sure there are other candidates out there who may not be tied to any team...I'd say it'd be tough to pry one away from their current GM position.

Sounds about right, although I have no reason to dislike Tom Gamble. Unlike the Tomsula debacle, Gamble is qualified for the job.

With Gamble he is clearly qualified, he has had numerous GM interviews over the past few years, teams clearly have shown strong interest in him, my only question would be, what prevented him from winding up with one of those jobs that he interviewed for?

He has had some really bad interviews. There are articles out there I'm sure with more details. I hope it was a fluke and not just a sign of a poor personality - stupidity, arrogance, etc.

He was just using those interviews as practice for when his life long dream job of the 49ers GM position opened up

His lifelong dream was being GM of the Eagles just like his dad and then Howie Roseman f**ked it all up.

We need a GM that can fix the damage Baalke and York have done with regards to hires and free agents. Coaches and Players don't want to come here because of these two.
