Who should be Baalke's replacement, if he finally gets fired?

Hell no to Gamble, he is a Baalke-Guy. We need someone outside from our organization.

Unless Baalke is fired, he is still the GM of this team. Therefore all future talk is irrelevant to Niner Talk for now.

Head Coach threads would/will be handled the same.
TB has two years. Next year and year after, if - there is no - significant improvement he will be canned he will have a fair and legit chance to make this team what it was just a couple of seasons ago.

But on the real it's gonna be gamble.

Great one too.

And yes, IF there is even a change, it'll be Gamble, no doubt...hell, Jed will probably just switch their roles (Baalke leads the scouts) and Gamble becomes the GM on 'deciding day.'

lol Baalke will be gone from this team. thank god.
Baalke should be gone but also gotta kick out the whole player personnel and college scouts. Go for Packers evaluators Wolf, Gutekunst or Highsmith or Seattle Kirchner and bring back the West Coast roots to home.

screw the WC. just get what works and don't be one dimensional. adapt like Bill and the Pats do. at one time they ran a spread offense, than a vertical offense, than a two tight end set offense, and now they are running more a west coast offense. draft the best players available, and mold your offense around them, that's what the great coaches do.
which team has been the most consistent over the last decade in filling holes through the draft?

NO. This team has progressively gotten worse each year. And this guy REFUSED to spend money or trade our picks for proven players. (chandler jones)

Eliot Wolf gives me a boner BUT Decosta may be more than ready. I rather have an assistant GM that has an idea on how to run a succesful football team, that sees the day to day operations, importance of free agency, etc., than a lead scout.

Agreed.

If I were Jed I do what it took to get Wolf, and then get the eff out of his way with the only request being that the 49ers return to a WC offense.
Guy from vikings would be my pick
Bob Myers
It SHOULD be someone from outside of the organization.

It WILL be Tom Gamble.

Why would any of these guys leave their current jobs to come work for Jed York? Many of these top GM candidates have turned down multiple jobs already. Guys like Wolf and Decosta seem perfectly content to stay where they are at and be the replacements for the guys who are currently running things sometime over the next few years.

If they continue to struggle and win fewer than 5 games, Baalke is gone and Gamble will replace him on the basis of his relationship with Chip Kelly, the ownership and that he has had several GM job interviews over the past few years.
