If we are just talking about just arm strength I have no doubt jamarcus was at least top 5. He could throw 60 yards on his knees.

He was pretty much running full speed away from the LOS and let go a 40 yard pass on a line - a line drive completion.
actually, this story was the 2nd time Elway had gotten Ronnie... there was also a story back in college where Elway was being chased around by USC defense, and on a bad angle, Ronnie believing that the young Elway could not lunch a pass to the WR who got behind him.. and next thing you know, KABOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!! RONNIE JUST SAW THE BALL UP ON THE AIR LIKE IT WAS SHOT FROM A GIANT CANNON AND THE BALL NOT ONLY WENT OVER 60 YARDS, THE STANFORD PLAYER ENDED UP SCORING A TD!!
I wish I can find that highlight here..
or what about THE JUDGE (Lester Hayes) calling the young Elway - Goose Gossage FOR THROWING TO A VERY BLANKETED WR and how he just heard the ball ringing up his ear and saw it "right there"!! "it was right there!!"

Marino? Best quick release point ever. As quick as Philip Rivers but a stronger arm. Not the pure cannon of George though.
I wonder what he could have become if he hadn't had oatmeal for brains.
Marino's release was a thing of beauty. The ball came out of his hand fast and effortlessly.

QB arm strength is overrated. If you cant place the ball accurately, its useless. As long as you can throw like 45 yards downfield, youre fine.

Everyone here is too young, but Sonny Jurgensen from a pure arm strength standpoint is easily in the top 5. He could throw a football 60 yards behind his back.

Roman Gabriel. Once threw a pass 80 yards in the air during a game. BTW, the best arm the Niners ever had in terms of arm strength, was John Taylor. YES John Taylor threw longer than Montana and Young.

The question is: Who had the best arm ... Not the strongest,
To me "the best arm means, can throw long, medium or short with accuracy".
There are a ton of players that can throw the ball long and that includes players that aren't even QB's.
To me, Danny Fouts and Dan Marino comes pretty close ... and oh yes, there's a QB in Green Bay that isn't too bad either.
Had the Chargers and the Dolphins had a better defensive unit, they would have won a lot of games with all the points that Fouts and Marino were putting up.
Problem was, their defenses couldn't stop the other teams from scoring More points.

Yeah, Kap really does at least belong on the list. He throws it so hard he has a problem taking anything off it. lol
