Him retiring at age 30 tells me he doesn't have love for the game anymore. He's paid big time. Multi millionaire. 30 years old.

Could've gone to a contending team to compete for superbowls.

Could have played for at least another 5 years and chased some records

To do neither of the above while also collecting more money over the next 5 years tells me he doesn't care at all about playing football anymore. I don't think it has anything to do with his confidence in his play

His health is a factor as well

Just 9 season played. Same with lynch if he retires as reported. Only 8 for Willis. 2007 draft class has some top tier talent retiring early. I don't have any of the 3 of them as hall of famers. All 3 great players but didn't hang around long enough. Lynch with the best chance cus of the ring.

All of them will get in without a doubt

Without a doubt? Daaaamnn your confident. There's still alot of players that are waiting to get in, also there's players in the nfl now that are leaving soon that are more deserving, and hall of famers like Charles Woodson.

Like the guy said, I don't think they stayed around long enough to get into the hall of fame. If it only takes 6-7 seasons to get into the hall of fame, then it's not much of a hall of fame.

Its not about how long u played, its about how dominant you were when u did. They were all the best at their position during their prime

How? Under contract with detroit, do they want to trade him, does new England want to give up the pieces Detroit would want on top of that absorb that crazy contract?
The lions best 2 players in the last 25+ years both retired young. Sucks to be a lions fan.
in 2013
Calvin Johnson signed a 7 year, $113,450,000 contract with the Detroit Lions, including a $16,000,000 signing bonus, $53,250,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $16,207,143. In 2016, Johnson will earn a base salary of $15,950,000. Johnson has a cap hit of $24,008,000 while his dead money value is $12,916,000.

Lions had him on lock. Wouldn't be a FA until 2020. Lions treated Barry the same way. Shannon Sharpe said this morning Barry told him a lot of him wanting to walk away he was just tired of losing. Lions were never going to trade Barry so the alternative was giving it up.

No one was going to take over that contract. Dude had to suffer a few more years with a crappy team just to get paid or retire.

Props to Calvin Johnson. Great player.
Calvin was a tank, props to him not dragging on his career if he can't be 100%

at the same time, he chose to sign that long term contract. That's not suffering at all..

yep, should have got out while he was a FA after his rookie deal. I don't think another team was offering that kind of cash. All that money prob eases the pain of the losing and broken promises, lol.
glad he left while he was STILL "Megatron"
What a waste of talent on such a bad team. Guess Watt is the next player on that list.

^ nO reason to feel sorry for him.
Thats two now from the great 2007 draft. Willis last year, Megatron this. Might be up to 3 if Beast Mode hangs it up.
Not even official. Lol

If odell beckham retired RIGHT NOW, would he make the hall of fame? If you say no, then your point doesnt have credibiltiy since I believe in his first 16 games hes beat every WR in the history of football in terms of TD's Yards so far (I could be wrong but hes definitly top 5 in his first 16 games without a doubt), and hes still just climbing and putting up monster numbers..

Therefore, yes, how long you played, does play a factor, because if he retired tomorrow he would never see the hall of fame.
