Just 9 season played. Same with lynch if he retires as reported. Only 8 for Willis. 2007 draft class has some top tier talent retiring early. I don't have any of the 3 of them as hall of famers. All 3 great players but didn't hang around long enough. Lynch with the best chance cus of the ring.

All of them will get in without a doubt

Without a doubt? Daaaamnn your confident. There's still alot of players that are waiting to get in, also there's players in the nfl now that are leaving soon that are more deserving, and hall of famers like Charles Woodson.

Like the guy said, I don't think they stayed around long enough to get into the hall of fame. If it only takes 6-7 seasons to get into the hall of fame, then it's not much of a hall of fame.

Rethinking it Lynch might have trouble getting in. The other two tho, yes without a doubt 100% first ballot maybe not but they will both get in, and who played 6years?

If Issac Bruce and Torry holt are having trouble getting in, what makes you think Calvin Johnson won't?
Jeesh, 1st Barry n now Megatron? Damn.
Obviously it's not official yet, but Schefty usually knows his stuff.

What can you say, it's sad to see him go & he will be missed out on the field. (Class act off the field as well)
If he feels it's the right time to go, then I can't fault him. I wish him all the best with his future endeavours.

It was a privilege to watch him play.

10 year pro careers will probably be a lot more common in the modern era & moving forward. (Jim Brown & Barry Sanders were on to something)
Why continue to put your life on the line for a terrible franchise? Barry and Calvin were smart for getting out early.
future hall of famer.

30 years old. sucks.

one of the best, if not the best WR of the modern era.

6'5, 230lbs. Ran a 4.3. Amazing hands and athleticism, and a great teammate.

What is your definition of the "modern era"? I dont know what that is but in no way does he compare to Jerry Rice thats for sure.

Rice through 9 seasons:

708 receptions
11,776 yards
118 touchdowns

Regular season receptions dont tell the entire story. Receptions and yards for WRS are all way up now compared to the 80s and 90s. But, no one would ever compare CJ to Rice as the best ever. Doesnt matter what era it is

Actually even the regular season stats back that up - even with the modern rules and passing game making it easy for WR's to rack up big numbers, Calvin's stats still don't compare to Rice's! Yards and catches are close (but the nod still goes to Rice), but man the TD disparity is huge. Plus Rice had the strike shortened season in there too.
Will be a Patriot next year.

Those records will likely never be broken, Rice was the product of a combination of tremendous talent, work ethic, and team. He was surrounded by greatness. Similar to MJ and Kobe, they were great, but they also had Phil Jackson. Greatness + Greatness = GOAT

Fantastic explanation. I'm sure one day someone will break those records but you're right they'd have to have the same dynamic ~ greatness + greatness = GOAT

Thanks..
look at brady.. he has belichick... montana had walsh.. and so on.. who knows how manys SBs aaron rodgers would have by now if he had one of those 2 coaches

I agree with zachary, I also believe without a doubt all 3 will eventually make it to the HOF.. but itll take a while.. im not as certain about lynch tho.. but willis and megatron forsure.. although im very bias about willis. Only thing i can tell u is 100% megatron will be making the HOF, count on it

Calvin was one of the greatest to ever do it, sad to see him go so young. This is becoming much more common now, as we just saw with Willis as well. Once the greats arent the best anymore they cany handle it. Rather hang it up early than be avg, and put your brain and body through further beating.

Exactly. Both continued to play at a high level up through their last year. However injuries were starting to accumulate for each and weren't allowing either to play at their self imposed standard of play.

Ya, its sad, but that day eventually comes for all athletes, and with the new research emerging about concussions there is no need to play past your prime
