The $17 million salary is real though right? That's still the 3rd highest on the team.

From what I read it's not GTD. So I'm not sure what he will get from SF once he's cut for real cash. Overall when you backload deals that's what happens. No one was upset when his cap hit was like an avg $10M for like 4 yrs lol. The bill always comes due at some point.

So can somebody tell me how much cap savings they get with releasing AA? And there is still dome dead cap hit coming correct?

I think I heard they only save $2.5 million unless they wait until after June 1. They can't do that because they have to clear his salary off the books to make room for free agents. Tricky business.

But usually if you are cut, you aren't returning to the original team. Some team is going to pay him.

That remains to be seen.

While he might make a full recovery from his knee surgery, plantar fasciitis is not going to go away. It can be helped with special shoes and custom orthotics but the cause is the way the bones in his feet interact with one another in a way that puts stress on the ligament. Teams know about all that and may be reluctant to take on a substantial contract.

All of that may leave the door open for him to return on a greatly reduced contract with some playing time incentives.

It sounds a bit complicated but what I read is that they he is a FA but the 49ers have a choice of releasing him now with a $2.8M cap savings for money to be used now. Or, designate him as a post-June 1 cut. AA still is FA and the 49ers save $18M in cap that can only be used post-June 1 - like when they want to do BA's new deal.

ABove is correct. He is a FA not, but on paper he will be a post June 1, 2024 cut. This will enable give them more cap hit savings. Lynch is smart, 2 million now vs 18 million in 3 months is a no brainer

can you blame him? I wouldn't want to be on a cursed team either.

gtfoh an get on a team that can finish the job while you still have a few NFL years left on your body. this team isn't takin you anywhere beyond 2nd or 3rd place.
