Dead cap is just an accounting metric. It's not real dollars.

Lol dead cap aren't real dollars? Dead cap means it's a certain amount of cash in the active salary cap that can't be spent - that's allocated to a player that's no longer on the team. It's cap space that's allocated to a player when they aren't on the team anymore.

sounds like we will save $18M if we post him as a June first cut but accrue $10M in dead cap. So sounds like an increase $8M salary cap space this year.
he has quite a few "void years" here so I wonder if this means we will still pay him a few mil a year for the next couple seasons or if that will be part of the accelerated desd cap cost. Where is AB when I need him.
