He had seven quarterback pressures and half a sack

He didn't take over the game but he damn sure made an impact

Yeah he actually flushed/pressured Wentz numerous of plays, this is where Bosa/Ford would normally show up, the players opposite him are well...... back ups lol it will be different once Blair and Ford come back.

It was a depleted Eagles offensive line would you agree?

I guess it's too much to ask for him to destroy the opposition's offensive game plan.

I'm not sure if they want Ford on the field anymore given his injury history

And we don't know what Blair will look like coming back from the ACL

7 pressures in half a sack says he was doing at least something

He didn't exactly destroy the line but he did make his presence felt

Yeah that's not the issue with a depleted O- line.

I would be satisfied if he took over games here and there not every game necessarily. I mean he is supposed to be the guy on the D- line on this team.

I can understand that sir I'm not happy about the Lost either

But I will not under rate the performance of those who played well

Armstead being one of those guys

As well as Warner Givens Hyder and a few others.

I understand the reason for overreaction Monday but let's not get carried away

We're good. I hope he assumes "thee guy" role on the D- line for the rest of his stay with the team.

Except he really isn't.
Bosa is the guy and Dee Ford is the guy after that.

Yeah, those guys are gone for now so Armstead is next man up. But it's hard to expect a really good player to be a dominant player just because he's the best you have left. We went through that stretch last year without Dee where all of a sudden the pass rush stopped getting home. And that was with a healthy and hard charging Nick Bosa.

Yeah, this is a fair assessment. He's going to get paid like a "the guy" but he is not but he can still be productive.

He has 3 sacks over 4 games, good amount of pressures, doing his best playing next to a rookie who's doing his best to learn how to play at a nfl level without the benefit of any normal off season.

Wth

Kinlaw is a rookie in the rona season and some folks want him to have the overall presence of defo...RIGHT NOW.

Ford was supposed to be the guy after bosa and for 2 years running he's hasn't been that guy at all.

Good post SlowDown!
I was watching the colts bears before the 49ers game. What struck me was how explosive Buckner looked and how often he splashes. Armstead, while a good football player, seems to lack that burst.

Not an overreaction or a "omg armstead sux we paid the wrong guyyy", but we let a really good football player walk out of the door.

I agree with that

But keep in mind Buckner was pretty vulnerable against the Run.

With kinlaw that hasn't been nearly as much of an issue so far this year.

So it seems the trade-off is not as many sacks are generated but pressures are still good and the run defense is very good.

Not to mention I think the 49ers are still third or fourth overall in defense without Sherman Buckner Bosa or Ford.

That says a lot
