if u get a chance to rewatch the game, just watch AA on every down he plays.

I have no idea how a football exec could think this dude is any good, much less give him the kind of extension he got.
Are OC's still exploiting his size in base in W9 with mobile QB's? TBF, the Waterbug exploits speed rushers too (Ford).

Arik is too damn slow to play DE in a 4-3 scheme. In Madden he must have speed 35 or something. He looks like he's jogging around out there.
I dont think some of you guys quite understand the responsibility of the 4-3 DE, as a DE you have containment you box, in other words you push up field keeping your outside shoulder free and force the the runner up the middle towards the pressure. What was happening is we were losing containment, however it was due to Kyler's ability to step up in the pocket and find the lanes to squeeze through hence why he could step up and run towards the outside as the DE's had already pushed up the field. Also this is game #1 you expect 25 sacks a game? He was doing his job, the issue as a whole was tackling, he was very disruptive, in fact Thomas to my surprise was starting to create some problems. The issue is that many look towards stats to indicate performance but you cant do that and ultimately to truly judge you have to understand the responsibilities of the the play call.

AA doesn't just stick to DE. On a few of those big Murray runs he was inside and taking himself out of plays by over pass rushing or simply not recognizing what's in front of him if you watch the highlights.

I only saw one occasion where Armstead got pressure. Which didnt amount to anything. I've fairly certain we resigned the wrong DT.

I dont see any value in Kinlaw so far. He was getting manhandled.

Geez give him a chance. One game after having no pre season and limited training camp and you're ready to throw the guy under the bus. As Rodney Dangerfield used to say 'Boy tough crowd'

He's not a rookie so he gets no pass. Add the fact that we traded away an all pro to keep him and payed him $17 million a year thereafter. He better start showing up.

Talking about Kinlaw.

I gotchu

But I'm saying he needs a lot of technique improvement. I dont see anything, and I mean anything in him at the moment. At least in Bosa and Buckner you always see something, either a TFL, or a pressure, or closing running lanes, etc. Arik, Kinlaw, and Thomas had the same performance as Pettis, they were all no shows when we needed them to step up.

Maybe you just need to watch things more closely because Kinlaw had two QB pressures. Just because you didn't see him drop Murray doesn't mean they didn't happen. Kinlaw and Solly definitely didn't have the same performance. Solly played 40 snaps and didn't have a tackle or a pressure.

Just sayin but if he tackles Donald the drive ends and Bosa still has a knee intact

That would be one hell of a tackle to make though. His body was going the opposite way of Darnold. With that said, you are right in a sense.

Was playing against a better Quarterback last week who is just a tad bit faster than the Jets QB.

Not to mention his job las week was to mostly contain.

A little hard to do consistently when you are on the field 80+ plays and your offense isn't productive

Just my 2 cents
