To me IMO this guy seems like another Jonathan Martin. By the way have we released the human turn style yet??? I'm sorry this guy is 32 year old hot garbage. Craig Dahlish signing. He's 32. How much better will he get? Now it's possible we got him because Buffalo ran a lot of screens. He also could be a bit of a victim of a horrible O line but if this guy is starting we are in trouble. I mean we have Looney, J-Martin and I don't know who else but what the hell does this guy add except a body??? 2 years!!!! You mean we couldn't get him for one??? I don't know first signing I don't really like. I get adding depth but why not get depth with potential instead of a guy who has already played about as well as he can and that wasn't even all that great.

Well we don't have a lot of Tackles right now. We'll see if he ends up being a pleasant surprise...he does have experience at G too.
LOT: Joe Staley; Erik Pears & Luke Marquardt
ROT: Anthony Davis; Chris Martin & Fou Fonoti
Alex Boone can continue to swing at T as well.
Most likely a rookie and/ore 2nd and 3rd tier FA beats him out and off the roster.

Oh is that official? I thought we had him on I.R. again? Injury settlement, release?

Based on what?
Well based on what's been said in this thread and the fact that he can step in at Guard and Tackle. I also like that they picked up a veteran, so he's not Evan Mathis or Jahri Evans, but he has helped the Bills to a #2 ranked rushing offense before in 2013 so that's gotta count for something.

He had an injury settlement last year, was never re-signed after that.

PFF season scores, by year:
2009: -18.2 in 8 games
2010: 0.0 in 2 games
2011: -1.3 in 16 games
2012: -8.2 in 7 games
2013: -8.4 in 16 games
2014: -25.0 in 16 games
So basically for his career, hes a -61.1 player. Terrible pass and run blocker.
I understand the depth part of things, but he just isnt a good OL. Not sure what adding another Jonathan Martin does to help anything.

i am fine with the signing because i know he was not brought in here to be a starter or to plug any other hole than to push martin or to be better than martin.. i am pretty sure the future with the two holes we have a center and over valued lupatis spot lies in a four way battle between kilgore/looney/marcus martin and the thomas guy who i think will be a gem. whichever two do not win a starting job will be good backup for us,, so that means pears, jonathan martin and maybe one or two more guys they bring in either as rookies, undrafted free agents or vets will battle for the remaining depth spots. despite what some say,, certain players are brought in here for a reason. this regime has a strategy behind what they do,, you and the media may not always like it but it works. this signing is for competition and for depth. the real issue is how those four guys i mentioned end up at the end of the day in my opinion

The dude wasn't brought in to be a starter lol idk why anyone cares, he was brought in to compete, if he plays like he did last year then all of you freaking out will no longer have to worry because he will be CUT.

he is a serviceable 6'8" OT that doesn't play well at OG at all. People should remember that when looking at his PFF ratings. He isn't a guard. He is a tackle, and a backup tackle at that. Merely competition for J. Martin, IMO. One of them won't make the team, I'm guessing.

Thank you AB. We need some depth at OT for sure.
