Again that doesn't really tell me nothing from what I've asked for, no offense and not trying to be a dick here?? You said you emailed PFF about Brooks, could you guide me down that same road or show some kind of difference in play besides negative and positive numbers?? The thing that I am trying to get at in a away is that PFF is flawed and you can either take their stats or leave, I choose to leave as it doesn't tell the whole story. Thanks anyway.

Go to the PFF website and email them in the contact section?

Obviously no system is perfect, or an exact truth, but what is your better alternative? You wanted to use the 2013 Bills team rushing yards as an argument. Thats an incredibly flawed and useless stat when it comes to measuring the performance of one player. In that argument youre just generalizing, whereas in the PFF side of things, there are experts tracking each individual play and grading it. How can you trust team rushing yards over an expert opinion who pinpointed the exact subject?

I feel like people who dont like or trust PFF are just skeptical of something new. If PFF had been around for 40 years, it would be taken more seriously, or even as fact.

I choose to trust their rankings as expert opinions from a scouting eye. Like I said, im not sayig its flawless, but the guys who watched every play of Pears career would know better than me.

They cant account for weather, bad luck, or playing injured, but they can grade based on what happened on the field. It wont be perfect, but it will good enough to get a good read on a player.

Yes I did mention that 2013 team rushing stat to try and throw some credit to Pears. But when I mentioned that stat, all I ever said was that if Pears had anything to do with a number 2 ranked rushing offense in 2013, he had to be involved some how correct?? I wasn't trying to be biased either way, show me some direct criticism of Pears and I'll understand, what I don't understand and I can probably speak for a few people on this site is that simple + or - sign digits don't tell the whole story, but you insist they do so enlighten me?? Like I said in another post, obviously Trent Baalke saw something in Erik Pears to sign him to a deal besides your PFF stats correct, and I think it's actual tape he was looking at agree??

This.

I expect a fierce competition between J.Martin, E.Pears, F.Fonoti, C.Martin and a 5th-7th round Draft pick for the backup OT spot.

Doesn't seem to be a typical Baalke signing, Pears is up there in age.

49ers award Pears two-year, $4.7 million contract:
49ers award Pears with $1 million in guaranteed money

"Pears signed a two-year, $4.7 million contract with the 49ers that includes $1 million guaranteed, according to figures reported to the NFL Players Association. Pears started 16 games for the Bills at right guard last season and after spending the previous three years at right tackle."

"He will first compete at left guard for the starting position that was vacated when Mike Iupati signed last week with the Arizona Cardinals, a source said. "

"Pears' deal includes a signing bonus of $500,000 and scheduled base salaries of $1.45 million in both years, according to the National Football Post. In 2015, $500,000 of his base salary is fully guaranteed."

Backup T and G money. He'll end up being our swing-T.

Agreed. B.Thomas and M.Martin are more likely to seriously contend for the LG spot

Hopefully, we'll never have to know...that would mean Staley/Davis were hurt.

So he has not shot at starting other than injury ?

Well, unless Martin, Thomas and a potential draft pick all flame out. Highly unlikely.
Baalke took out a 1 milliion dollar insurance policy on the OL that none of the key members gets injured.
