Really? What makes them decent? The 49ers have had mid round RB's and undrafted guys before. Basically you hope they are decent prospects but until they actually get real snaps, we don't have a clue.

Ohh Mike Davis how hopeful people were. Ain't no body replacing Boobie Dixon

Its a contract year for Hyde, could all this talk of being cut, be part of a campaign to keep his price down?

Not really sure how talking about him getting cut drives his price down. If he balls out he's going to cash out regardless of training camp fodder
First thing, the stable is full of decent prospects, rather the Camp Fodder that we have had on the roster behind Hyde in past seasons.

Hyde thinks he is a bell cow, or feature back, he will want feature back money. If he begins to see the truth, he is a nice part of a running back tandem, he will have a more reasonable expectation of his true value.

By seeking a trading partner, openly for a player, you send the message, we may like you, but we can live without you.

If he remains untreated, you send the message, that other teams were not in a hurry to part with anything valuable for his services.

My, I'm a fan, I like Hyde, when he is healthy, but I am not a coach, I expect they know what they are doing, if they trade him it will only be for the betterment of the team.

But none of that answers why talking about him being cut drives down his price tag

supply and demand?
Id like to keep hyde around to see if he could fulfill his draft potential even though I was never really a fan of his running style.

But ya know I wouldn't be mad at all if the ravens took him and MacDonald off our hands for say a 2nd round pick if possible

They way we got Boldin and Zuttah for next to nothing, the Ravens will tell us we owe them one and offer us a 7th.

I'd bet a 4th would be the ceiling for him

The 2nd had Vance in the trade.

Decent prospects, is not high praise, if you can't see the difference between this group and last years, I can't help you.

Mike Davis was a decent prospect. Kendall Hunter was a decent prospect. Decent prospect isn't saying much. Williams could get mad and retire again. Hightower could be over the hill, Breida could be a whole lot of nothing as UDFA's often tend to be.

I don't see it as a particularly strong group but I hope that they develop and do well.

Shoot if Kendall never got hurt the guy wouldve been a 1k rusher in this offense. Kendall will always be the feeling of the one who got hurt and got away before even sniffing enjoyment for more than a year.

I agree, Kendall was looking pretty darn good before he was hampered by injuries. He may not have ever turned into a "bell cow" type back but could have been very productive in a two back system which is more and more common in today's NFL.

Loved,loved,loved,kendall...he wouldve been a beast in the outside zone. He had such a sweet cut ability.
