Hyde getting cut is so dumb it actually makes my head hurt. Makes no sense.

1300 yards is very possible if he plays 16 games. Unfortunately, I dont see that happening.

Yeah lets cut someone who is good off of yards after contact and played getting hit behind the LOS a good amount. While he makes like 700k.

Yeah, totes McGoats.
Its a contract year for Hyde, could all this talk of being cut, be part of a campaign to keep his price down?

LOL...yeah, same exact concept. Hell, we have posters in here with that same mindset. Ha.

It's like my buddy who always says the top draft prospects a bust. Clowney will be bust. Lucks a bust. So on and so on. He was saying he called Clowney and then last year He didn't say s**t.

Haha...true. It's an effortless thought process. Not exactly putting yourself out there if you do it in mass quantity (everything sucks-stance --- eventually you'll be right at some point about something).

Not really sure how talking about him getting cut drives his price down. If he balls out he's going to cash out regardless of training camp fodder

This. Hyde is the 60th highest paid running back in the league this year. He's been the 49ers only offensive weapon the last two years. When healthy he's been productive inspite of being behind one of the league's worst run blocking offensive lines. He's been productive inspite of a stale rushing attack. He's been productive inspite of having no other legitimate weapons around him to take the pressure off.

But hey, let's go ahead and release him in a contract year while he's playing in the NFL's most effective and tested running scheme.

Well have him split some reps.
Or run him into the dirt and replace either way he has
Legs and we should use him
I don't see us cutting especially when we don't have quality players to replace him. Maybe it's a way to motivate him to give it all during training camp and preseason. Worse case is we trade him, but no way we cut him outright unless he stinks it up.
It's the old Denver/Shanny attitude that behind a good OL any back can gain a ton of yards. Kyle has that mindset, did the same thing in Atlanta.

The thing is, I don't think he's ever not 'given it his all'. His yards after contact are a testament to that. Injuries are the only true negative with him. I'm with you and see no way they cut him. He would be a major upgrade in Seattle for one thing and would hate to see him jump to a new west competitor if cut.

Maybe he can't understand the playbook. He did go to OSU.

A lot of RB's on this roster right now and a few of them had great springs according to analysts, you also have Williams the RB Shanahan demanded we draft. I don't think Hyde gets cut either but his going into this season without a contract for 2018 is telling...would not be surprised to see him moved if one or more of the stable of new RB's on the roster show something this summer as it is a rebuilding year.

Let's see what happens. I think it's crazy to cut or trade Hyde at this time. I know they believe in their system, but I would be more confident with a proven veteran at that position.
I want Hyde stay for us in few years if he is good stay backup. Keep to Hyde for years.
I think the new offensive scheme will benefit Hyde.

He most certainly won't be facing as many 8 man fronts w/a crappy Oline.

That alone will help him open it up.
