Such bad luck. I feel bad for him. Ward has been pretty durable up until the hamstring injury suffered in camp.

Do we really need to remove Lenoir or Womack from SCB? Both have played well.

Ward hasn't played outside since a rookie, that thought process needs to be put away because it's not happening. That's why they have built the depth they have at CB with guys who actually play on the outside

Jimmy played in the slot and on the outside a few times. He has a broken hand though.

verett and Mooney outside jimmy in the slot?

I am not saying we will play him at outside corner. But your state is not true. Ward played nickel in his rookie season. He played outside corner under Chip Kelly. He also played outside corner under Saleh (2nd season) for one season when they thought Adrian Colbert was their man at FS.

He said "I can't wish I was back at free safety" The Position swap with Gipson was probably just for the game against the Chiefs because of Travis Kelce and wanting to make sure he is ready to go at full speed even with a club on his hand I hope

Just put him at safety and Womack at nickel until JV comes back where they'll probably go Lenoir at nickel why is it so hard for them to do that? Gipson is just good insurance

J.Ward is the D.Brunskill of defense. A solid dude who the coaches are trying to get snaps but isn't fitting anywhere right now.

He has been marched up vs Kupp for years and actually plays a pretty big part in a numerous wins vs them.

Dude is a safety and a damn good one. That's where he belongs. SF had the balls to toss in a 5th rd rookie and last yrs 5th rd rookie in the nickel role and think we didn't need some sort of vet there…shocker it hasn't working out seamlessly. Now take our good FS with a broken hand and have him play in straight up coverage? Don't like it

Team just doesn't value DB's enough. At this point hopefully Womack can turn things around and flash like he did in the Preseason. That's the best hope.
