Jimmie isn't a ball hawk but he's always pretty solid. Another solid game today and I'm actually intrigued by demeco sending him on those times blitzes.... We may see more of that in future games

horrible take
why do you think the eagles only scored 11 points in which 8 came at the last second?
all the teams that get far are fundamentally sound
getting rid of these players for flashy players is how franchise fall apart and teams become inconsistent

I just think Ward isn't as technically sound as people say.
He plays very passive in coverage… which I acknowledge is mostly designed but he's always been inconsistent in the run game. He's taken a lot of really wide angles to the ball carrier and hesitated near the goal line giving up a touchdown in this game. He's usually good at funneling plays in the open field but he's shown that he doesn't consistently make the tackles in the open field.
Ward isn't a bad player but I just have never seen his value to the team like others have. He's the best we got RN but I don't think he should be in our long term plans.

Nah, now that is a horrible take and the excuses for Ward are getting not only old but very disturbing. There are plenty of teams that get far and are fundamentally sound but their safety can actually make a lot more plays than a guy like Ward. Do you even watch some of the good teams in football? Are you watching Kansas City and their safety? Come on

Ward and Tartt are such a consistent and reliable duo. Our defense is different when they are both healthy.

I believe he is one of the most reliable free safety in the league in securing a tackle as the last line of defense. Yes he missed the one tackle in game 1, but nobody makes 100% of the tackles, and he is as reliable as it gets. He also plays well in coverage. He had experienced playing nickel back and outside corner. With that versatility, you can do more creative coverage scheme with him.
It is also correct he doesn't make the big plays like interceptions and forced fumbles.

We are talking about comparing 1 player at the exact same position as the other and Mathieu is worlds better than Ward
guess what else.....HE WAS OUT WEEK 1. You should seriously do your research before posting.
tonight he got 2 int's in the FIRST QUARTER.
My good sir, you have been served
All bullhonkey aside, I think this is going to be Wards best year all around and he's a solid player

and they allowed 36 points
flashy plays does not make a good defense that was my point and i stand by it
Chiefs are consistently a good fantasy defense but not a good actual defense because they have flashy plays but arent teh best at stopping defenses

Loved how he was in a position to make a play on the Kyler Murray prayer of a pass but instead just watched Hopkins go up and make an uncontested catch.

I've stated numerous times how Ward cannot make a play to save his life. He is solid usually in coverage but that's it. He hasn't got a pick in 4 years and counting. He was trash today and has been most of the season. 10 million dollars for nothing. He could of made a few plays today and that was an easy int on that prayer throw. Just horrible

Looked lost out there. Not having a good season so far. I was hoping he would back up all the smack talk during the off-season with a pro bowl year.
