I realize Megatron is a stud but com'mon man...garbage yards, soft defenses...he's gained half his yards this year after the game was a blowout and the Lions are playing catchup.
What are everyone else's thoughts? What do you think Jerry's thinking right now?

Jerry already said that he doesn't mind giving the record to Johnson.

How many of those yards were achieved in garbage time?

It's another BS record, just like the ones Brees has been setting. Totally different league now. Rice would regularly have 2000 yard seasons under these rules.

I'm surprised it took this long with the rules being what they are these days. The record book should be divided by era IMO, so much has changed since JR set his records.

How exactly is Matthew Stafford completing 59% of his passes with a 78 QB rating and 17 TDs with 15 INTs with Calvin Johnson as his #1 WR???? That is insane...

Rice broke the record and the niners went to the playoffs. Calvin broke it and his team isn't even sniffing the postseason. Nuff said.

His teams lack of success should not take away from this record. He's going to have 2000 receiving yards this year. Anyone who isn't impressed is just being a foolish hater.

CJ would've done it back then too.

How can the lions be so bad when you have a receiver so dominate... guess defense still wins championships
