We were the best team under Walsh and failed to win it all, it's really really hard to win it all guys. Having said that Walsh had built up a lot of credibility in winning those first two so Harbs has his work cut out. I would argue that last season was just a matter of not having home field advantage, which was one egregious Saints call from happening. However, the Hawks were a really really good team. The NFCC game against the Giants is on Kyle Williams but I'm not so sure Alex Smith outduels Tom Brady in that SB, even though our D was playing lights out, the Giants were the hottest team in the NFL.

We should have won the SB against the Ravens. Some horrible early miscues, poor ST, Culliver, huge deficit and we still had a chance to take the lead. We take that lead, our D steps up for sure no doubt about it, they would prevent Flacco from getting into FG range, even with Boldin in beast mode.

I am sure our defense totally makes tom Brady one dimensional and that Justin and Aldon eat Brady alive that year. Add to that NE had zero chance at stopping the run and especially our run. We would have killed NE. NYG benefitted from playing us earlier that year because they understood the physicality we play with. NE had no idea and no chance. And once NE stacked the box their slow LBs had no chance play action vs Alex and VD. He would've ran wild on those idiots!

If there is truly an issue "upstairs",whoever the problem child is needs to get back in line or ship em out
Prime example is the backup QB we had this year. First we trade Alex then acquire Colt. Then we draft BJ then we bring in Seneca then we cut him. We release BJ and sign Skelton. We cut Skelton and sign McBLT who we cut two seasons ago? Jim might be just about as jekkyl and Hyde with full roster control as he was with the backup QB for all we know. I see more maturity in the decision making of Jed Paraage and Trent so far. Jim is a great coach but to make the claim as elite you need the chip. He just got to the NFL so I doubt he is ready to do the job of Paraage and Trent. You have to manage a draft free agency a roster and a budget and cap space. No. Let Jim have major input on player personnel but his focus should be on coaching! He does a great job there we know

Major input is what i should have said instead of more control, thanx.Thats if he doesnt have it already.

What really pisses my off about this whole thing is how stupid Haslem is. Keep you're ineptness to your team. No one will ever want to do business/trades with them if they can't keep sh!t under raps. And if our team denies the trade, you deny the trade.

Yeah, I'm a little bit in denial concerning that season just because a stupid Ted Ginn injury stopped us. They got their points off of TOs that game but we still had a couple of chances to win that game, Alex did not play all that well that game to be honest but the NYG D stepped up and we handed them the win instead of making them earn it, 1/13 on 3rd downs says a lot. The SB and last season hurt in particular because we were in the redzone both times at the end of the game. The Giants game we handed to them but it hurts even more being in the redzone and not being able to get that lead or that win. Plus Harbs' first year we were all sort of surprised and riding high, now we expect to win these games.

Yea bro! NE was totally in finesse football mode in 2011. Pass first no run game no defense. No chance vs our run and stack the box with the chemistry Alex and VD had play action. I am sure we win going away. They weren't ready but if you notice Bill learned from Jim and is trying to run more the last two years and field a defense because Jim showed the league that once more you can win the way we play. Teams are scrambling to adapt. GB got Lacy ATL got Jackson NE added Blunt to Ridley and on and on. Pass firsts are trying to run now and stop the run in a pass first league

This is baaaaad. I hope we don't become the fanbase that cruxifies Harbaugh like the Eagles did with Reid. Sure, we coulda/should already had one SB under our belts over the past three years, but it IS extremely difficult to win a SB. One play short every year. Either way, if we lose Harbs, how long before Roman and/or Lord Fangio departs? Without Harbs, I say Kaep regresses and, with our division constantly improving, we finish next year with 9 - 10 wins. Pay the man!!! It's not like his salary counts against our cap. We're a money-making franchise. Pay the friggin' man!!!

Who do you want running the draft and having final say? Nolan was good at finding talent, we don't know if Jim has that eye. War room arguments aka Sing and Trent fighting over Mays is not desirable.

We kind of do know. Stanford was a terrible program with no history of winning and Jim went out and got the right players and now they are one of the best programs in the country.

I agree about paying him. He is worth the raise but I know Jed is saying win the chip to get the $8million annually. Can we really blame him? I love what Jim has done honestly but he has had his faults

I can't believe it's really got to the point where Jim and Trent only talk to each other via e-mail. Both these guys need to put their egos aside and work together for the best interest of the team. What happened to "the team, the team, the team"?!?

Name me a coach that doesn't? Bill Belichick is probably considered the best coach in the NFL and he hasn't won a Superbowl in 10 years.

But will his roster moves mesh with our salary cap and can he work with Paraage if he supposedly can't work with Baalke? Look I think this whole thing is hearsay but if some of this is true I still have to trust Baalke and Paraage more than Jim when it comes to personnel draft picks and dealing them and the impact on a salary cap. In the NFL money is involved with a salary cap and not just scholarships and classroom space

Scouting QB's and scouting every position is a big difference. I'm not sure if I trust Jim to make a big board and use that over Trent's.

True but you have to understand the fact that he has won three championships for NE so they have to pay the man. There is no excuse not too. Just the same there is no excuse Jim is still making $5 million when Jeff fisher is making $7 million but to get that $8 million Jim might have to win the chip if he will get it from us
