Yes, about half of the current players in the NFL are paid extremely well, but what's the solution? funnel more money up to a group of 32 billionaires?

I guess the players should just do what they're told, like good boys, and sign a document they havent even been briefed on.

The players know full well what they are getting into when they play football so if they want to risk their health than that's their own choice and nobody is forcing them to do it.

You don't want to ruin your health than don't play football it's that simple. Their job isn't on the same level of risk or necessity as someone who's in the military or is a policemen or firemen who get's paid far far less. You're playing football for yourself not for my sake which I'm perfectly fine with and I wish you a healthy life but don't expect me to feel sorry for you.

The guys who last 3 years in the league are typically the guys who aren't any good not the ones that can't do it because of health reasons. So if you're out of the league in 3 years than use that college degree that you more than likely got for free and get a job like everyone else. Just because football is over for you doesn't mean you can't work.

Sure not everyone is making a gajillion dollars but league minimum isn't a bad gig either and usually more than a lot of people will make especially considering if you're a minimum guy than odds are pretty high your a fringe player that rarely sees action aside from preseason and doesn't put his body on the line like the starters do.

As far as retirement and health care goes I fully think it should go to the older players who didn't make anywhere near the money of today nor had the benefits of advancements of safety or health care of today's game but as for today's players it should be based on how long they worked in the game not just play 3 years and hey have lifetime health care and pension.

I have no problems at all with what the players make but I also don't want to hear from the about how they put their bodies on the line or how they have short careers etc because I don't feel sorry for them as they are far more privileged than a heck of a lot of people are and a lot of people would trade places with them in a heartbeat.

At no point did I say that others opinions are wrong because they are letting their emotions get into it, like Kidash98 did. Which implied my opinion wasn't valid.

Just out of curiosity, where did you find the statistics to support this claim?

I would be interested in a comparison of frequency of on the job injury with these professions.
