Ok last one:

ESPN's Chris Mortensen says that the NFLPA may vote tomorrow, and they still could approve it. They just want more time to review the proposal.
How do the players think there can be a reasonable way to have players be able to opt in or out of the union? That doesn't seem like it could work in any way and yet they're saying that what the owners are doing is illegal because they're being pressured to re-form the union.

I mean, do they really expect that not having a union or having an opt-in union are realistic options or are they just using that angle and lawsuit as leverage?

ochocinco: Wonder how many people understand the awesome strategic move that some genius came up with to shift the pressure n negativity on us.

Basically, what the owners tried to do by sending over an offer that was not fully negotiated with the players.

This is where the players story doesn't add up. They keep saying the owners snuck in some stuff but at the same time claim they haven't seen any document. Both can't be true. Since you wouldn't know what they snuck in if you didn't read the damn thing.

I stick by my initial assesment that the players are making a power move to try and get more out of the deal. Probably many of them didn't like the deal Smith negotiated for them so they are trying to make it seem like they never negotiated anything and the owners are just making up their own s**t.

Ok, this is simple.

The players have not read the proposal. Therefore, they have no way of knowing what the deal is. Hence, they want a chance to read it to make sure it's a "fair" deal. Nothing unusual about that... you want to read the finalized legal document before you sign off on it.

Also, if you don't think both sides are making power moves, you haven't been paying much attention.

Frankly, I don't give a f**k, though. Just give me my f**king football. Motherf**kers.

1) I don't know, I was just following suit cuz they're funny.

2) We lose out of they don't lift the lockout, too. We don't get money, but we lose out of the game that we all love. If you're posting on a football fan site in the middle of the summer about the lockout then you must be a diehard like the rest of us. I don't want my enjoyment delayed any longer than it absolutely has to. Am I happy this is dragging on? Hell no! But I don't wish this to be carried on just to spite the rich peoples' wallets.

I love football as much as anyone here, but I'd be willing to boycott the NFL for this year just to get the message across and make sure we never have to deal with BS like this again. The problem is, everybody would have to be on board and that's just not gonna happen. Boycotting in smaller numbers isn't going to do sh*t.
dkaplanSBJ: "Contrary to reports out there" there is no vote scheduled Friday, player rep George Wilson tells ESPN. "This is not Armageddon. This is nothing more than an attempt to get the fans to turn on the players. That's a sign of disrespect."

dkaplanSBJ: "We are definitely not where we were on March 11...progress has been made," Wilson tells ESPN. "But we have to be fully informed."

I hate to get worked up because I know we don't have all the information. What you said though is what I keep thinking. How could this have snuck up on the players. Maybe the owners made some last minute counter proposals but most announcers on tv say it's a pretty fair deal. Players did nothing on wednesday! Owners accept a deal today. Players react to it like it's sneaky. Again we have very little information but I think the players hate that the owners signed a deal and gave them till Tuesday. They reacted with an attitude of don't tell us what to do but in the end hopefully they will think that the deal is fair when they calm down. I also think the players are ok to take their time because they miss training camp which they hate and it hurts the owners more to lose so much money per game.
