I am not the brightest guy around but seriously..some of what you guys say makes no sense.
Both the NFL and NFLPA met for hours on end over the past few weeks. We heard countless times that they agreed on this issue, that issue and so forth. Then they finally brought in the lawyers to work on the document. Would it not be that both sides of lawyers work together to draft the damn document? So both sides should have the damn document to ratify.
I don't get where you guys say they need to negotiate the issues.
The fact is that the players are trying to negotiate additional things. That is the way I take it. If it turns out that the owners agreed upon a completely different deal than what was negotiated between the parties for weeks then I would agree with the players. The fact is that we have no proof of that. Just the players saying this isn't a good deal. Meaning they want more concessions from the owners.

2. Don't like being told by the owners that they need to recertify to get the deal done.

What a*****es!
I have an odd feeling that this whole thing has been mismanaged by De Smith and company. Remember Cullen Jenkins' Twitter comments earlier?
Quote:
Packers Cullen Jenkins: I find it amazing how as a player I am watching ESPN to get info. Reporters know more than we do.
If you aren't the player rep for your team, how can you expect to have first hand knowledge? They can't possibly keep almost 2,000 players updated to the second on what's going on.

Reading ESPN now and what the NFLPA is saying is that they never had an agreement with the owners but the owners say they did.
I have to lean towards the owners here because everything we heard is that they wrapped up the final remaining issues and were going to present a deal to their parties. If that isn't true then what was the NFLPA going to do last night? I think the players are backing away and want more. That is my read on it.

This is such a mess, so sad. We need a Photoshop with Goodell's face in "Mission Accomplished" picture.

During his press conference, Goodell said they agreed to the deal negotiated with the players. So you're saying that not true at all?
Just trying to be clear.
Players are saying they have not seen the offer and it's been said that the offer submitted by the NFL is the deal they ratified based on their own proposals.
Take it for what it's worth. I wasn't there.

No, they said one thing was included, and apparently it wasn't an issue the NFLPA was concerned with.

I read somewhere, ESPN I think, that the owners approval was contingent on a number of things. They've set timeframes for the union to recertify, for players to make demands regarding post cba issues, retirement health insurance or workers comp benefits, or something like those, don't remember exactly. Could be the players are asking for more time, and won't agree until there is an acceptable timeframes for both parties.
Don't know if it was posted but hall of fame game is cancelled.
